SEC teams getting better except Tenn.

I think the successful coaches in the SEC right now are the ones who take risks here and there. Example: not afraid to put more and more Freshmen and Underclassmen on the field. How many spring camps have we heard about Quinton Hancock only to see him sparingly in games?

its not the recuits!! we get! it's what we do with them is the problem. i mean look at alabama, florida, lsu, and other top rated teams they use there freshman playmakers. there not afraid to set a senior in favor of someone better. like we do. foster would never start a game for me because he has no break away speed, and fumbles alot. austin rodgers never start over g jones or paige or moore in my book. fulmer wooried some player going to get mad at him are something. saying they must know the playbook first or be a junior or senior to start.well if the better player is a freshman put his butt in there. I mean look at eric berry he started yeah he got burn't a couple of times last year and that made him a better player because of that. use what we got theres plenty of talent there!!!!

My frustration has been building, not from the loss to UCLA, but the past years watching bad unexpired coaching.
I think the old school, predictable methods of coaching Tennessee exhibits has expired. I think we need some new blood to give us some inspired directions..

I have heard some great arguments, but we all know UT will not fire Fulmer. It just will not happen.

It's funny how fans get accused of being fairweather fans when you question and criticize coaches’ play calling. Pull your orange sunglasses off and see what is happening with vols football. You can be a true fan and still don't like what is going on here. The decision to kick a 55 and a 51 yard field goal instead of pinning UCLA offense on their own goal line with a third string quarterback is inept. Vols have the most talented secondary in the country and Chavis decides to play soft zone with 2 minutes left in the game. Who does that?

With Fulmer gone, who's going to keep you boys honest over there?! We know your angle :)

I really hope that after the terrible times we've just went through, that we will not "need" anyone to keep us honest. I really think we'll keep it within the rules from now on!!!
At least I hope so, because I don't want to go through THAT again.

I have serious worries about the future. I think it's obvious now that we are no longer a top tier team in the SEC. If we can't hang in with Georgia, Florida, Auburn and the new improved Alabama this year, I believe it will confirm that we are now essentially another Kentucky, South Carolina or Arkanas strength team. Then we will start recruiting at the same level as those teams and it will become a self perpetuating cycle with years of frustration for the fans used to better.
