The SEC isn't as dominant as past years have shown. it's almost an even playing now almost I said, Alabama Missouri, Mississippi State,Florida, South Carolina, ect you get what I'm saying. Even more of a reason why Tennessee needs to step it up Saturday and bring home a SEC VICTORY.In my mind we have a team that's just good enough to take the the east but I have little confidence in our coaching staff especially Debord.

I don't give the first damn about SEC Swagger........

Yep. I much prefer a team that lets their play do the talking. Really like teams that come out with a hard nosed, physical style of play that punishes the opponent. Guess almost everyone has adopted this finesse, spread style offense, but I'm not a fan. Granted, this has nothing to do with this "swagger" thing. Just an opinion.

Nah, I have no problem with Tennessee swagger.....just don't give a rip about "sec swagger". I hope other SEC teams lose every single game.

Not much into Tennessee swagger either. To borrow a term from the younger generation, I prefer they walk the walk on the field so to speak.

Does anybody else hate the word "swagger" as much as i do? I was actually discussing with my wife last night about how many times they said it during games and pre/post game stuff. I'm only 29 so it's not exactly a generational thing. It's almost as dumb a word as yolo

Whether you like it or not... ALL great athletes and teams have swagger. There is an arrogance that comes with knowing that you will beat your opponent. I don't want to hear about this team believing they can beat Florida, I want them to know they are going to beat Florida.

If we overcome the mental block that is winning in big games then I think we will have the swag. We should out talent each team we play except maybe Georgia and Alabama. Those two teams now, in my book, are winnable games. It comes down to two things. One being our play calling on offense and the other being our mental toughness. If we overcome that, I believe we will be one of the top SEC teams.

Verb
swagger ‎(third-person singular simple present swaggers, present participle swaggering, simple past and past participle swaggered)

1. To walk with a swaying motion; hence, to walk and act in a pompous, consequential manner.
2. To boast or brag noisily; to be ostentatiously proud or vainglorious; to bluster; to bully.

Noun
swagger ‎(plural swaggers)

1. Confidence, pride.
2. A bold or arrogant strut.
3. A prideful boasting or bragging.

Out of all the common elements in the definition of 'swagger', only one (confidence, pride) has a positive connotation.

So I'd rather none of our team, players or coaches, have any swagger at all. I would like for them all to have great confidence, and pride in their team, but then stop there. Going beyond that is just bluster.

As for the SEC, I'm all for the conference dominating the national landscape. What's good for all is good for each. But I don't care to see any tide or war eagle or dawg swagger, either. Just confidence and pride. That's enough.

Swagger is a state of mind achieved by imposing your will upon the opponent. Kicking their ass and making them like it. :boxing2: :vava:

That's not swagger. That's domination. Complete and utter domination. It's a much better thing than mere swagger. Swagger is for punks. Domination is for winners.

So many people upset with a word on here. Swagger is confidence. Swagger is knowing that you're better than the person across from you. Swagger is knowing no one is going to stop you on 4th and 1. Swagger is not being afraid going into the Swamp riding a 10 game losing streak. So much of football is a mental game, especially for 18-22 year olds. Preston Williams needs to think he's better than VH3, bc if he looks at it on paper he'll realize he isn't.

Young bull and old bull standing atop a hill, chewing grass and looking down on their herd.

Young bull hops up and down a couple of times, says, "Let's run down there and have one of them heifers!"

Old bull chews on that a minute, says, "Let's walk down there and have them all."

The young bull has swagger. The old bull dominates. That's the difference.

Let's dominate.
