SEC Statictics

Mercury Morris led the league in rushing TDs

Dick Anderson led the league in fumble recoveries and fumbles returned for TDs (although he shared the latter with almost 20 players)

I just looked at the front page of stats; passing/rushing/receiving/etc. Didn't dig really deep.

Almost as an aside it's rather amazing that, given their respective running styles, MM would have twice the rushing TD's as Csonka.

Maybe, but S. Carolina has played 4 games and all went to bowl games last season:

aTm
East Carolina
UGA
Vandy

They play Mizzou next which would make it 5 teams. Not as uncommon as you may think.

Never said it was "uncommon." Merely suggested that if you look at the teams that are leading the stats, they are mostly the teams that played a bunch of cupcakes. Therefore, the stat leaders right now are sort of meaningless.

We're probably the only SEC team that has played only 3 games and all of them against Bowl teams.

Miss State got to beat up on Southern Miss, UAB, and S. Alabama. Alabama played Southern Miss and Florida Atlantic. Playing cupcakes allows you to pad the stats.

Roughly half the league has only played 3 games just saying.

Bowl games schmoll games. 128 FBS teams and 38 bowl games So 1 out of 3.55 teams went to a "bowl" game. Kind of drunk right now, just want to beat Ga.
