The more I think about it, the thing that makes Georgia's talent base strong is the thing that may make recruiting in that state difficult.
Let's face it, recruiting and coaching travel team guys is difficult. Georgia is the Capital of Travel Team baseball and I'm guessing dealing with their helicopter parents and the high number of the guys that sign pro contracts is maddening.
UGA won the SEC's first national title in 1990 and then promptly fell off the face of the earth. This despite one of the first programs that could take advantage of Hope Scholarship.

So after 2-weeks; the Vols sit in 7th place overall. Of coourse, the meat of the schedule is coming.

Having won a division series early in the season the pressure is off for that first one, but pressure to win another division series, and handle the success.
The longer they keep their head above water by able to keep their division record 500, or above it they could be a team that finishes in 4th, 5th or 6th.
