Lo and behold after 4games the Vols are still in thick.

Need to take advantage of possibly the last "easy" series we have.

Come on back down to Georgia, Scott Strickland!

Other possibility is Jim Toman.

Any other guesses?

The more I think about it, the thing that makes Georgia's talent base strong is the thing that may make recruiting in that state difficult.

Let's face it, recruiting and coaching travel team guys is difficult. Georgia is the Capital of Travel Team baseball and I'm guessing dealing with their helicopter parents and the high number of the guys that sign pro contracts is maddening.

UGA won the SEC's first national title in 1990 and then promptly fell off the face of the earth. This despite one of the first programs that could take advantage of Hope Scholarship.

Great facilities. Great weather. Great talent base. Spotty success.

It is widely known fact in Georgia that if you were to combine the facilities, $$$ and SEC competition from UGA and brought over the coaching staff / philosophies from Georgia Tech, you would have a top 10 team every year.

Assuming aTM finishes off Ole Siss

So after 2-weeks; the Vols sit in 7th place overall. Of coourse, the meat of the schedule is coming.

We may rue not winning the last last Mizzou game.

Tennessee Tech is dominating the OVC right now.

They will likely move to 8-1 in OVC play after today as they lead UTM a they are winning most games in blowouot fashion. They will come to Knoxville with an 11 game streak if they can finish the Skyhawks off this aftenoon/

They have a standard schedule for them. It appears UT may be their best opponent so far as they have not really beat a powerhouse team to date.

Illinois L 13-2
Illinois W 6-5
Illinois W 7-6
@Lipscomb L 11-1
Niagara L 4-2

Niagara W 9-0
Niagara W 10-9

USCjr has not been that impressive this year, struggling with Mizzou opening weekend and then getting swept.

Our best chance for winning two series in a row was the first two weeks of the season.
Having won a division series early in the season the pressure is off for that first one, but pressure to win another division series, and handle the success.

The longer they keep their head above water by able to keep their division record 500, or above it they could be a team that finishes in 4th, 5th or 6th.

I know it's OT But why does my signature not show up in posts even though for additional options I have it checked show signature?

I have said this many times before but the path to Hoover and a regional is to win conference series at home and to avoid sweeps on the road. So far we have done just that. And we have a chance to do that again this weekend. It's definitely not going to get any easier, but we are looking alright at this early point in conference play.

Also... this conference does have 2 divisions, but they are not the same thing. Division record means absolutely nothing. Sorry...pet peeve.
