just got the schedule, some interesting things out there, and seeing as how it's march, why not break it all down now and save time come fall.....

games of note:
Bama/VT in Atlanta i believe....should be a good game, i dont' think i'll expect a similar outcome (at least in margin) as last year's game with an ACC foe.

also interesting for Bama's schedule, they play 8 games straight before an open date.....and we are the 8th game.....4 consecutive conf. games including two road games in that stretch.

Arkansas renews an old SWC rivalry with T a&m, and they play 11 straight after a week 2 bye. ouch.

Auburn getst WVU at home and plays 11 straight with a bye the week before the Bama game....oof. We're #5 in that rotation....

LSU starts off @ Washington, who should be abysmal again, but that's a tough place to play and LSU is breaking in some new offensive players. other than that, they have three big away games @GA, @ ole miss and @ bama...

Ole Miss has a terrible OOC schedule....no one of note, and they get us at home the week before LSU comes calling.

MSU...eh. they got GA Tech OOC, and the rest....blah, blah, blah.

FL has loaded up with it's usual tough OOC schedule with the likes of powerhoses such as Charleston Southern, Troy, and FIU. Biggst road game is @ LSU. their schedule is definitely doable for going undefeated, but the BCS won't like the OOC.

GA gets OkSU at home and AZ state...don't know how good either of those teams are but kudos to them for getting two BCS conf. teams on the schedule. @ TN and @FL plus LSU is still on the schuedul and Auburn....pretty daunting schedule for the dawgs.

KY has yet to apparently fill it's 1st two slots, one will be a bye in week 1 or 2...then it's 11 or 12 straight games with nothing really to speak of OOC wise except the game with L'ville.

USC travels to Raleigh, and FIU makes it's 3rd appearance on an SEC schedule...poor guys. @ga, @bama and @TN and cose out with FL and Clemson.

We know our schedule....UCLA is notable obviously to see if we can exact some revenge for last year, then the biggie @FL and @ bama....home against GA and Auburn and SC. 8-4 is not unrealistic.

Vandy plays 12 straight games and gets a week off before the SEC title game. whoopie.

I guess i'd have to say GA once again has the toughest schedule. 1a has to be Auburn.

Ole Miss has a legit shot at winning the west if they can beat Bama or LSU. and they get them both at home.

FL has to be the odds on favorite to win the East. @ LSU is the toughest game, and they wont' be as good as they have been recently.

I'll go conservative and say it's FL and Bama again. i think Bama still has enough up front, great WR in #8 and they proved last year they don't have to have a great qb to get it done. FL might lose one game.

FL wins the SEC again and finds itself in a BCS bowl once again....if udefeated likley playing for a national title again.

GA and TN finish tied for 2nd in the East wth 8-4 records, SC 3rd and KY and Vandy battle it out for last place.

Ole Miss finishes tied for 2nd with LSU, Arkansas finishes 3rd, MSU 4th and Auburn just has too brutal a road schedule for it to come unscathed... @ TN, @ ark, @LSU, @ GA and @ bama. Man if i were an Auburn season ticket holder, i'd be pissed. Ole Miss and WVU are the two biggest games on the plains this year....

Jake,

Kentucky opens with Miami, Ohio then follows that with their bye week.

While we're talking about some of the SEC teams playing an easy OOC schedule, just how tough are Western Kentucky and Ohio?

they're not. i didn't tout our schedule as anything special this year. but there are some noticeably weak ones this season. GA historically plays no one, but to their credit, they are at least seeing more bcs conf. schools these days.

but FL, LSU, and TN in particular really don't play anyone worthy of real national attention.

Nice breakdown.Although I disagree with the SEC WEST winner...I do believe Ole Miss will get it this time around.

I didn't realize we get bama after they play that many games in a row... I like our chances a little better, given we don't have a grueling stretch before we head to Tuscalooser (I don't have a schedule in front of me if someone wants to clarify that)

yeah, i know, but it's not like TN and UCLA are top 20 programs heating up the start of the season.

it's a nice matchup. and it will be a story because of last year and Kiffin. but in the end, it's two teams about in the same place in their conf vying for something bigger....this is the "not so ready for primetime" game as i see it.

they have a legit chance. but i have to go wtih Bama. i won't be surprised to see the Rebs grab their first out right west division win though.

the schedule is in our favor, except that it's @ bama. but that week off for us vs. Bama playing 8 straight...who knows how injuries etc... could set up for that game. Plus bama has 4 straight SEC games prior to the TN game....ARK, @KY, @Ole Miss and USC.

Okie State wil be top 10, possibly top 5. OSU-middle returns everyone of importance on offense except for Pettigrew the TE. From reports, defense is the biggest concern especially the secondary but UGlyA will be breaking in a new QB in J. Cox so it should be interesting. Okie St by 2, TD's that is.

pretty bold. it's in athens and OK st i dont think will have a repeat performance of last year.

and i think Joe Cox will do fine for GA. he's been there for what, 4 years? he's had plenty of PT before. there are some GA fans i've talked to that actually think he may wind up with a better overall year than Stafford did. at least in the sense that the team may be more successful anyway.

we'll see though. hard for me to believe they'll get beat by OSU all that said.

I just checked the OSU-middle and UGlyA schedules and the game is the first game of the year and it is in Stillwater. 2nd game west of the Mississippi for UGlyA in like 20 yrs. the other was ASU last year in Tempe
