SEC refs

The bogus offensive pass interference call changed the entire game. Killed our momentum completely and we never recovered.

I was out of this world mad at the refs. I wonder if there has ever been a game where the crowd stormed the field and just kicked the refs into the dirt for being terrible.

I know that the the calls may have not changed the end result, but this year the ref's have been just plain bad. It's not even with just our games, I have watched plenty of games this year with teams who I could really care less who wins, and the calls have just been bad.

blaming the refs game after game for the loss is a losers mentality IMO. If you pick apart any game there will be missed or blown calls. It's just part of the game. I saw a couple of calls they did not call against us that they could have. My point is, the refs are not the reason that this team is playing subpar. If you think it's the refs that keep costing us games, you are missing the point.

I agree, refs are not the reason for UT's record, it is the offense, but I would love to see some stats on the different sec crews vs penalities against UT. I will say though this crew did the bama game last year and that was the worst calls I have ever seen.

Did anyone see the video, it was funny

Did anyone notice that 2nd and 17 that bama picked up 13 or so that the play clock was on zero for a couple of seconds before the ball was snapped? I don't know if it was a mess up by the broadcast or what but I thought that just sealed the fact that these refs really blew the game from the calls stand point. I don't think biased refs against bama could have won us this game, but as a person who has a sports related degree, I just like to see games called fairly.

Ark and tennessee Liberty Bowl was as close as I have seen to Refs getting their ass kicked.

I wasn't at the game, but I could hear on TV the stadium announcer ask the fans to please refrain from throwing anything on the field after they called EB's touchdown back. Apparently there were some pretty pissed off people at the game as well.

you guys got HOSED on that PI call! That completely changed the momentum heading into the half...if not called and you guys get at least three points, who knows what happens in the second half. Also whatever happened to letting the play end before blowing it dead as on the Eric Berry fumble recovery.

I would totally agree noy saying it would change the outcome at all but it was a teriible call and momentum killer

You never know when a momentum changer like that changes the outcome. The game was still close, if we score a TD there, we may have won. We will never know. I also beleive the false start on first and goal cost us a touchdown, Foster ran the ball to the 6 inch line on the play. Not saying that was a bad call, just a bad place for a penalty.

The penalties are killers in so many ways.

With this years team you can just see it in their eyes when they come back to the huddle after a flag -- "what next?"

Lots of shaking heads and in some cases even grins -- "what do we have to do to catch a break?"

I think it is playing with there minds. They are just waiting for the other shoe on every big play. Berry didn't even seemed mad when they called back the TD.

there were some pretty bad calls vs. uga and ucla too. i could make a pretty long highlight reel of bad calls that refs have made against ut this year.

That was my biggest gripe with the whole situation...Let the play continue, then review the play...Its simple, get the call right.

Yea, although it was pretty funny. It's like asking a kid with a match in his hand not to light a fire. They brought out the cops at the south end of the end zone ready to kick people out for throwing stuff.

After that announcement, the whole stadium booo'd really loud. Then the announcer came back on and said "Thank You". That made everyone laugh.

Apparantly you haven't seen our kicker in action for the past 12 games or so.

My thoughts on the fumble are if it had been ruled a fumble there wasn't enough to overturn it. It wasn't clear when he lost the ball or when it started coming out. So by rule the call had to stand. I think that could have been a big swing for UT to get back into the game and possibly enough momentum to give us a chance to win. Momentum is dramatically under-rated in football.
