SEC refs

This game has been an absolute masterclass in ****** officiating, but these teams are also not good. I was somewhat concerned about OU coming into Neyland later in the year, but after watching this game I’ll be annoyed if we don’t run them out of the building. Ugly, ugly football.
That was my take away from watching that game. Oklahoma is very beatable. In Neyland we should win by 3 scores.

If you are watching the OU / AU game thoughts of how poor the officiating is? First pulled 6 off the board for AU scoop and score. Now they did a no call on an obvious PI at the goal line. I guess the oil money flows in Norman?

Auburn got fornicated, royally, in so many ways. Incompetence. I can't stand this conference.

You can say the same thing about every game. Many TN fans say it when we are losing.
Not me. The worst ref game I’ve ever seen against us we won. It was the Kentucky Joe Milton game. Whatever year it was, when ever we went through the 3 to 4 game stretch where a live ball penalty wasn’t called against our opponents

It matters more when a flag is thrown compared to what it is thrown for. There are times during the game when a penalty impacts the outcome more than others. Since Saban came back to the SEC, I really began to notice this.

Some teams may have less penalties for less yards but when they were penalized, it has stalled drives or changed field position and not necessarily a penalty that took points off the board.

Definitely agree. I was going to note that on my original post but thought I’d wait for roundball season when I’m sure the refs will give us ample examples of their ability to control games.

OU coaching staff ran a illegal play that is a rule in the book. Why do they have an illegal play in their playbook, seems odd? Can they be fined or sanctioned. I know after the game Sankey quoted the rule they broke and this inept crew totally missed the illegal play. I do not like either team but if refs can catch a lineman illegally 5 yards down field in a mass of players moving and throw a flag how can they miss a player faking running off the field and stopping at the sideline. This was a total fubar of a game.

The officiating was bad, though I also don’t think it all went against Auburn. They had the “makeup call” since they knew they fudged that missed PI as someone mentioned. It leaned toward OU but seemed bad in general (maybe I missed some stuff while flipping between games).

Anyway, not going to feel sorry for those Auburn clowns with their lack of class and some lucky calls they have received over the years. Move the SEC office out of that awful state lol. Funny enough, I read comments from some Sooners fans saying they could beat Tennessee and Georgia lmao.

If Bowl Cut’s talented D can’t shut down our O in Knoxville, then OU isn’t going to either. And OU has shown limitations on offense so how are they going to beat us in a shootout?! Don’t see that happening.
