That was interesting.

From your perspective as a Vols fan, what is worse? The fact that you have the highest budget but not the best classes, or that they cut the budget by ten percent this year.....

I have no problem at all. We got a very, very good class and if they pan out, money well spent. I send donation in and have no issue.

How do you think CPF recruits, he can't just step off his front porch and get players like Meyer can. Tennessee has to go coast to coast and that can be costly.

"* These figures were self-reported by each university in response to a public records request. Vanderbilt, a private university, is not obligated to fulfill public records requests. Alabama did not respond."

Hmmm...sounds about right for bama, huh?

But seriously, I think for us to recruit high level recruits, we've gotta fly the kids in from all over. Florida gets 75% of its recruits from in-state. Lots cheaper on airfare, or to drive down.

I think that this actually puts a damper on Fulmer. The one thing that his supporters can always cling to is the fact that he is a good recruiter, but this revelation makes me wonder if that might not be a manifestation of the amount of money he has at his disposal. I'm betting that he never has to wait to go on an in-home visit.

Excellent point. It ought to cost more to get people to come to UT. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Also, I wouldn't say your class is better than our's until we see each of them produce.. We were ranked third in class rankings, the top 5 can be very subjective IMO..

I was more surprised by how much Florida and Georgia spent than I was Tennessee. They get the majority of their recruits from in-state, what are they spending the rest of the money on?

Gainesville has some charm to it and the university itself does a pretty good job of giving the students a good time. I remember this one day... Well, never mind.
