Surprised we have a losing record against the Pac-10
California - 4-4
UCLA - 7-6-2
USC - 0-4
Oregon - 0-2
Oregon St - 1-0-1
Washington St - 4-1

The losses have been to some really good teams mostly top 10-15 majority

However the "new" Pac-12 moving forward will move us over to the winning record column in the next 20 years likely

Oregon State
Washington State
Boise State
San Diego State
Fresno State
Texas State
Utah State
Colorado State

Don’t even get me started on this ugh. Call me old school but miss the days when a student at an SEC school could get in their car and drive to an SEC football game.
I noticed during the buildup for the Alabama/Oklahoma game the media was using the name “ stadium on the prairie” or something close to that. Now the SEC has reached the prairie lands like in the famous TV show from the 70’s. Agree, I like Oklahoma and their fans, but geographically they are not a fit. Or Texas. Same really with Missouri.
It’s a shame that TV network $$$ drove the expansion decisions and will continue to do so.

My ideal SEC would truly be a SOUTHERN, SOUTHEASTERN conference with the additional teams being Fl State (fanbase a great fit for the SEC along with location), Ga Tech, Clemson and Tulane. This would give SEC fans away games near 30a on Gulfcoast, games in Atlanta and games in New Orleans.
Most importantly the schools all are a great fit with their geographical locations and southern fanbases. Having SEC games in Nashville, Atlanta, New Orleans and more of a footprint in South Carolina would give fans opportunities to travel to some of the best cities and and areas of the TRUE South.
A student cannot just get in the car and really drive to Norman or Austin from the majority of the current SEC schools.
North Carolina could be a potential fit as well and I know they are currently the top choice for SEC expansion.

Note: Finebaum was asked recently on his show about Tulane getting back into the SEC after making the playoffs this year. He touted his close personal relationship with our current SEC Commisioner when he delivered his response “ the SEC has no interest in expansion with any private, non STATE universities”. Basically, rulling out Tulane and a few others. He has also stated that North Carolina is currently first on the list for expansion.
At least the SEC is the only conference who stayed contiguous to Southern states that touch each other (yes Mizzou is an outlier but still more "Southern" than not)

When the final expansion happens and the NC and VA schools are brought in, the circle will be complete

It’s amazing how many times we have played PAC 10 teams compared to the rest of the SEC.
I attended many of those games, both home and away. It was always fun and interesting to
see the difference in cultures.
Cultures are totally different. Went to LA for the UCLA game in 1989 and met some nice folks tailgating. They literally had brie and white wine. Ended up sitting next to some and despite being a 13 point favorite and losing 24-6, I didn't see a single battery or mustard bottle thrown! lol

Kind of irrelevant at this point anyways. SEC and even the Big Ten are going to have so many players opt out of these bowl games bc they’re going pro or going into the portal to get paid. A lot of these matchups will be without key players on any of those teams. It’s going to be more and more prevalent going forwards unless something changes.
