He honestly looked significantly better than Eason yesterday, to me, Rev.

I know Eason didn't play that much, but he looked pretty pedestrian when he was in.

I wouldn't be surprised if they stick with Fromm, even if Eason returns to full health.

Its because they didnt have to go far to score. Why take chances when you dont need to?

Just one man's thoughts:

1. Bama is Bama. And I hate that.

2. Florida O is horrible. Makes that game there winnable (if we can have a D).

3. Georgia is the leader in the clubhouse for SEC East at the moment. They have two great QBs and two great RBs. They will be tough to beat.

4. UK--don't know enough about them or Southern Miss yet...I suspect we should be better than both

5. Same with Vandy--they may have looked good, but it was MTSU. Still, they are improved as a team and better than in previous years (they used to get beat by MTSU).

6. USCe will be interesting. They are improved as well.

7. LSU--probably most improved in their passing game.

8. Missouri games will be shootouts. No defense at all.

Realistically, I am a little more pessimistic this morning than I was yesterday morning. SEC East looks like everyone has improved in some way. I will need to see a real strong showing by our team Monday night to get optimism flowing again.

Butch needs to win the East this year....no excuses about injuries (I am really concerned about what is happening year after year with injuries. Once is understandable, but again this year???

McElwain has won the East twice in two years @ Florida.

Kirby Smart looks poised to win the East in his second year at UGA.

Meanwhile, we are sitting here with CBJ fifth year and still no East titles. I feel this is make or break for CBJ. Yes, he has gotten us out of the abyss of Dooley, but can he take the next step? Everyone else is improving...I need to see that from our team. Stouter Defense is a start...we won't be winning crap if we have the same defense as last year.

SC looked better than last year.
UGA was the most talented east team I watched.
UF is hard to peg right now. Yesterday was hard to watch if you are a fan.

Agreed.

But I also remember other years where UF was dead in the water before we played with poor early performances and that didn't pan out come game time.

UT should win this game but still being skeptical is not unreasonable to me.

The only team that really surprised me yesterday was South Carolina. They're better/further along than I expected them to be. I bought into the NC State hype and thought they'd handle South Carolina.

Also, Vandy dog-whipped MTSU yesterday. I expected Vandy to win but I thought it would be a closer game. They looked very tough and physical. We're going to have our hands full with them at the end of the season.

Beating Georgia, Florida and South Carolina is gping to be extremely tough. Especially if our defense doesn't improve significantly.

Well they were only 3 of 16 on 3rd down conversions, that's why I am wondering why they didn't throw it more. If you only are converting 18% of 3rd downs, logic says you throw it more. If they were struggling that bad on 3rd downs and didn't throw it, just makes you wonder why?

I think the first team that can shut down Alabamas run game, or at the least hold them to around 130 yards, that's pretty much shutting down Alabama run game LOL. they will be able to beat them. They had less than 300 yards of offense against LSU, FSU, Florida and less than 400 yards against Clemson and Washington. With roughly 60% of their total yards coming from rushing, and their 3rd down efficiency is in the garbage can in all of those games too.

The only teams that play Alabama well are pass heavy teams. If you have a good long passing game, Alabama struggles. Run heavy teams have almost no chance of beating Alabama. Even with top shelf running backs, Alabama easily shuts them down. But with a passer, Alabama gives up a decent amount/a lot of passing yards. Deshaun Watson had over 400 passing yards on them--but Clemson only had 91 yards rushing against Alabama. Francios last night had 211 passing yards, but FSU only had 40 rushing yards total and managed to keep the game close for 3 quarters. Chad Kelly had 421 passing yards last year and Ole Miss had Alabama beat, their defense couldn't hold up though. Cardel Jones had 243 passing yards when Ohio state beat them. Joss Dobbs had 171 passing yards in 2015 when we played them well and we held them to only 117 rushing yards.

Michigan is the youngest team in the country this year. They just lost like 40-something players due to graduation and draft. You just watched a freshman Defense beat the piss out of Florida for 60 minutes.

Florida had 11 total rushing yards...as a team.
They had less than 200 total yards of offense. And only scored 3 offensive points. They allowed 6 sacks...

Spaight threw two HORRIBLE passes into triple coverage. That is the only reason their defense looked even decent. Florida gave up 200+ yards of rushing...and lost to a Michigan QB who finished the night with a QBR of 28.....

Florida was dominated on both sides of the ball. Stop kidding yourself. Florida fans realize how bad their team is and are currently forming a lynch mob for Jim Mcelwain this morning.

You beat me to this point.100% agree. I think Michigan will struggle in the big 10 this year as well. Also I'm not saying lsu won't be great but I think we shouldn't base it off theIr performance against byu.i watched the byu vs Portland st game and byu was very unimpressive in that game.they couldn't get their offense rolling against them either.

I would not underestimate Florida, I thought there defense is still probably top 15... they did get tired in the second half for sure, but who can blame them. I think Florida is going to still win quite a few games.

Hmm, not sure I am in agreement there... if you mean improved as far as efficiency... I think so and that is the goal.. as far as yardage and attempts.... I think they will have similar stats as last year, if I were to guess. Last night was 15/18 for 183 yards and no tds. The biggest difference is that the 15 completions went to 8 different receivers. 8 guys ran the ball, 8 guys caught the ball.

The misconception is Canada is a spread aerial attack guy (although he has done that before)... that isn't going to happen. I would expect LSU to finish in the #70-100 rank passing yardage in the NCAA this year.. Pitt was #78 last year iirc. "improved", maybe a little... I would just say more team ball.

I didn't watch any other SEC teams yesterday.

Feeling better than I did before Saturday. Fl didn't show anything and Scar is definitely struggling on defense.

I think Florida got their butt kicked at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball... getting Callaway and Scarlett back will help their offense but they still have big problems. I didn't see the South Carolina game but a 7 point win over NC State is not that impressive.

UF looks bad early and hope is now restored for some.

The idea that UF is going the wrong way under Mac (which wasn't ever good) and most educated Vol fans still being skeptical is a different worry this far along.

Carolina looked better than last year, specifically on O. IIRC they were a 7 point dog yesterday.

Wouldn't say they are a threat to win the east yet, but I'm not sure how good you have to be to do that just yet.

It was there a long long time before, but losing to that 4-8 squad just cemented it for me. All of this "Florida embarrassed the SEC yesterday" crap, well let's just say I ain't for it.
