After watching a couple of our East opponents, what do some of you think. As much as it pains me to say Florida and SC look pretty solid for their first games. As usual, Florida has tremendous speed. Thoughts?

Mark Richt has lost control of my lofty expectations for the season.

I've been watching the game and what I see is a good, not great, SEC defense, and another inept offense by Florida. Of course, I'm a bid jaded in watching the game. My biggest problem watching the game is which team to be for.

A football game is 60 minutes, I reserve judgment on either team until they have played a full game of football.

Living here in Columbia I don't get a lot of Big orange news. I can't tell you how annoying it is to constant here about the Gamecocks, man I hate these guys. As for my hate for Florida, well, it's Florida.

Bama will be our toughest SEC game as usual.

We have a chance against UF & SC.

I sure hope your right brother. I am so tired of being the laughing stock of the East. We have wasted so much talent the last several years and basically handed the East to Florida the past two years. Time for the Vols to get back on top.

  • Mizzou - potentially explosive offense, never even heard of defense. 3 outta 10.
  • Florida - anemic offense, quick but not disciplined defense, solid kicking game. I'd say they'll be better when they get their RB back, but that OLine might not let him make a huge difference. 7 outta 10.
  • USCe - haven't watched that game at all.

So far, if we're an 8 outta 10 total team, we got the East. Gotta see Georgia, though.

We are however my comments were before the second half. Florida is now getting handled however they still have really solid speed and receivers. As for SC, the defense looks decent for first game. Remember that mist improvements come between weeks two and three. Again, these are just my thoughts, not saying they are accurate.

UF may not have a great offense...but as always they have playmakers on defense and are very capable of surviving a game even with an anemic offense showing.

We have been, if you do not agree then you must be watch another Tn team. The last two seasons we were definitely the best team and blew it. And please do not get me started on the Dooley era.

Floridas offense is horrible. 150 yards so far. Of course, they'll wake up and look like the Patriots against us.

Defense didn't seem that impressive to me. Those picks dropped in their laps and they haven't done anything since. They won't hang with our O. Our season depends on injuries, if healthy, we take the east

The best thing that can happen for the Vols in the Fla-Mich game is for it to be close and for Michigan to win.

We see a Florida team that is sub par at QB, is missing a number of players that will presumably be available for Tenn, including the starting RB, and the game is at Michigan. I have not seen the entire game, but I saw enough to think Florida is going to be a tough game for us. The last thing we need is to go to Gainesville underestimating the Gators. If today's game is close, when Michigan has several advantages, maybe our players will take the Florida game as seriously as we should.

Of course, we need to take GT seriously, as well.
