They are technically the same thing.
You have 25 scholarships to give. That's 25 LOIs to sign.
So how do they handle NSD? If someone puts out say...40 offers do they just stop the fax on NSD after the first 25 are received?
Seems like to me its just buisness as usual except three less kids, sorry, young men are getting a scholly.
how does it do that? If they can't get into school then their LOI doesn't matter anyway
now if you're saying they won't get recruited as hard then that's not really on the school is it?
If coaches have less room for error, then it seems they would be less likely to accept commits from players that might not clear academically. Loften, for instance. Maybe even a guy like Pat Martin.
Schools didn't impose the rule, the SEC did, so why would it be on the schools?
Coaches usually know how many they have before NSD and save a spot for a surprise or two (which the coaching staff usually knows about anyways).
It's not like 40 kids have their LOI waiting to be faxed in and say Dooley turns off the fax machine after number 25.
Doesnt sound like it addressed "greyshirts" at all...they just have thre less schollys to play with.
