SEC offensive line ranking per ESPN

More importantly, UT is picked to have the 2nd best OL in the East; while Georgia, who many of the pundits think is the favorite to win the division is ranked 5th in the division and 11th in the league. Hard to win in this league if you don't win the battle in the trenches. I'm not overly familiar with UGA's OL, but if they have a lot of question marks up front, they are going to be very vulnerable against a good pass rush. Hope Coach Sal is up to the challenge.

These pre season rankings are just fodder to sell ads and subscriptions. I wouldn't put too much stock in them, except that Alabama and LSU rankings are probably solid.

I have said for the last two years don't expect any great running game from our O-line and expect to see big changes this year. We have just been too young the last two years. Every once in a while you will have a freshman (usually redshirt) be able to start and hold their own in the SEC. Expect a very noticable difference this year with the push they will get off the line. Go Vols I for one finially have high expectations for our offense.

looking at that picture tells me why we havent ran the ball well but have been good pass blockers.......they are big enough to get in the way but not strong enough or in good enough shape to move the line of scrimmage. Pretty simple

I am perplexed to how we are not in the top 25. ESPN has our line ranked at 6th in the SEC, our wrs/te at 1 SEC, and our QB at #3 in the SEC. Even if we had no running game again it would seem we should still break the top 25. Georgia Tech in the ACC is projected at 25 preseason ranking. Makes no sense to me. How can a team with a top QB, WR, OL, and TE in the SEC not be ranked higher than a team with nothing in the ACC.

they haven't done defensive rankings yet

ESPN is one bunch of stupid b'tards. "This is the same line ..." stupid mofos. Tiny is no longer an injured freshman. We had red-shirted guys who haven't even been in the mix but they are now. And lack of running yds is not all on the line, if our play-calling was emphasizing pass. We didn't even have a runnin backs coach -- we do now. Let em smirk while they can. It's almost high noon. Winter is coming.

A line that has practically played together for 3 years should be ranked number 1. The fact that most of these guys have been together for 3 years and had such a poor year last year is scary on how far we are behind. Same thing on the DL we are even further off. I hope these two units step up big time this year otherwise Coach number 4 will be coming in...................." Skip Holtz"...lol

Our past records is one reason. Also, while I am excited about the new defensive scheme, our secondary is going to be a huge question mark. Also, depth at lb isn't great and the dl is still unproven

Also I am excited the offense is getting respect but we haven't put out a fully healthy performance since Cincinatti. I will be much happier at the end of the season when we are in the top 3-5 in all of the offensive categories in the sec.
