Joe Tessitore: "I'm not sure Tennessee wasn't the best team in the SEC east this year.
Tim Tebow in response to Tess: "No doubt"

Paul Finebaum: "McElwain got away with the TN game, all the credit in the world, but next year TN is going to be ready. That game is in Neyland Stadium, I can't wait for it already."

I'm not a fan of any of those guys but they do know football.

The know the SEC very well and the top teams in the country too.

They know that Oklahoma, floriDUHHH and alaBubba all beat our Vols and were very lucky this year when only 1 good D PLAY at the end of each of those 3 games to stop them from their last score and our Tennessee footVol team would have probably Won the SEC Championship this season and been in the playoffs.

They all spoke with solid confidence because they really KNOW that next season our Tennessee footVol team is the team to beat in the SEC and in the Country.

We all heard lots of hype before this season but that's nothing like we're going to hear going in to next season.

Our players and Coaches all learned LOTS this season and I don't believe the same mistakes will be made next season.

If all our players were 100% healthy right now I wouldn't be scared to play any team in the country.

Our Tennessee Team 120 is going to be 1 of the most dangerous teams in the country.

For me this is going to be 1 of the longest offseasons in my almost 62 years of living.

For once I agree with Finebaum...I can't wait for next season!

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

This just pisses me off. That game is gonna sting until we finally beat them again.

Obviously it stings the worst cuz it's the most recent, but 2014 still stings for me as well. They all add up for me, heck 2006 still stings. I remember being a tender lad of 9, and begging my parents to let me stay up for the end when we were up 17-7 in the 3rd quarter. After they finally caved, I got to watch UT's defense cave as well in the 4th, en route to a 21-20 UF win. I cried myself to sleep that night. The first UT game I can vividly remember watching was 04 UF. This streak has lasted well over half of my life now. I swear UT football is at least 60% of the reason I turned from a young innocent boy into a cynical teen/adult with trust issues.

It's the most wonderful time of the year, getting close to Christmas, the Vols have another game, the anticipation of a New Year. I'm digging it!

Go Vols!

It is just a shame that the conference had to endure that fraudulent Florida team in the championship game. They are every bit as inept on offense as they were under Muschump.

I have my doubts about Mcaelwaine or however you spell it. I guess time will tell.

Before we crown the Vols the next playoff champion, lets hope they win their bowl game and then sign another top recruiting class that fits thier needs and builds depth as a football team. If they can accomplish that hopefully they will continue to work hard and develop themselves this off season and during spring football.

Florida is the luckiest team in college football history. They should have lost to UT, Vandy, and Kentucky.

As far as we're concerned, I have to see it before i believe it. It's the flukiest series in the game.

It's time.

They should play the first 10 seconds of this clip on the Jumbotron before kickoff every home game. Especially UF & Bama.

Luckiest = cheatingest

UT has got to find a way to push this game back further in the schedule (maybe move up Mizzou or UK game) because UF almost always has players suspended/dismissed and injured by end of year. They flat out cheated this year and should have had those games voided IMO.

They cannot lose to Florida next season. I hope the coaching staff will be ready. They will not be able to temper the expectations going into next season. The Vols will be the clear cut favorite to win the SEC East. They will likely be top 12-15 in the preseason rankings. And after next year there will likely be a huge amount of turnover on the roster. Next year is Atlanta or bust.

Regardless of the perceived notion that fans like myself who aren't enamored with our head coach wants Tennessee to lose we actually don't. We want to win as bad as the FightingButchs. Next year will tell the tale. The expectations, as evidenced by the SEC Network announcers, will be completely through the roof.

Unless Dobbs vastly improves his accuracy as a passer, I still think UT loses 1 or 2 games it shouldn't next year. Hope I'm wrong.

This is why Finebaum makes fun of our fan base......all of VN mocks, ridicules, and insults Finebaum on a routine basis.....THEN he says something positive about us and suddenly he's the smartest guy in the room. Smh

During the previous off-season I was a brake pumper. It's in my genes, I guess, not wanting to tempt fate with expectations that are unreasonably high. Next year I think an East title is a realistic expectation, so the brakes will get a break.

But after watching how Bama wore down poor Florida yesterday with such unbelievable front seven depth, I have trouble seeing us being quite ready to match that by next year. So I'll be tapping the brakes moderately once or twice next year.

They beat us. Rationalizing failure a bit in this post.

Here was my 2015 prediction writeup I compiled before the year. I was pretty close:

Sept 5 - vs Bowling Green in Nashville. Vols 41 BG 26 (1-0)

Orange Tint - By God, we are here. Did you see that? 41 points. We could have scored 400. GBFO, Butch Jones for life.

Sept 12 - vs Oklahoma in Knoxville. Sooners 38 Vols 30 (1-1)

Orange Tint - Well boys. You can't win em' all. Oklahoma is back and they will probably win the National Title. How are we supposed to compete with that new Air Raid offense with these young players? If we would have just caught them in October instead. Dadgumit.

Sept 19 - vs Western Carolina in Knoxville. Vols 56 WCU 17 (2-1)

Orange Tint - See boys, we are a well oiled machine. Did you see our offense? Boy howdy, we are not even showing 1/3 of the playbook waiting on those Gators next week. 400 rushing yards - look out CobbWebb there's some new boys in town ready to take your place.

Sept 26 - vs Florida in Gainesville. Vols 27 Gators 19 (3-1)

Orange Tint - The Orange Tint crowd here will lose their collective minds and have the biggest simultaneous orgasm in recorded history when we beat Florida. They'll set Knoxville ablaze and by the time the team gets back there will be a 12 foot statue to Butch erected somewhere on campus.

October 3 - vs Arkansas in Knoxville. Razorbacks 38 Vols 28 (3-2)

Orange Tint - Well you know they ARE undefeated. I'm sure they'll win the National Championship. They just have too much speed. I bet those Running Backs are getting paid to play.

October 10 - vs Georgia in Knoxville. Bulldogs 24 Vols 13 (3-3)

Orange Tint - well, it was just a tough time to catch Georgia. I mean we were deflated after last week's game. And Georgia was fighting mad after barely losing to Alabama. They couldn't afford two losses in a row. I bet Georgia wins the East going away now. They may even win the National Championship by God! Wait till next year when we get to pound those puppies in their house. BUTCH

October 24 - vs Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Tide 34 Vols 27 (3-4)

Orange Tint - One more year. One more friggin year. Lookie how close we were this year boys. Bama is just that good. I mean my God we are competing with an NFL team. Look at the miracle we performed just playing with them. I about bet Bama will win the National Title this year.

October 31 - vs Kentucky in Lexington. Vols 48 Cats 24 (4-4)

Orange Tint - Trick or Treat Kitty Kats. We just whipped that ass. Back on the winning train now. If we just play like we should the rest of the way I bet we may even make it to the Citrus Bowl boys!

November 7 - vs South Carolina in Knoxville. Vols 37 Gamecocks 31 (5-4)

Orange Tint - BUTCH. Spurrier ain't crap compared to Butch. It feels great to come back from 10 points down and just break South Cackalacks soul again this year. I bet Spurrier retires now because he don't want to ever have to play Butch again.

November 14 - vs North Texas in Knoxville. Vols 58 Mean Green 14 (6-4)

Orange Tint - Looking good boys. We are clicking on all cylinders now. Damn if we could have just played Arkansas, Oklahoma, Georgia, or Bama now we'd have beat all of them. Look at the way Butch has this team maturing. 2016 is the YEAR baby!

November 21 - vs Missouri in Columbia. Tigers 28 Vols 24 (6-5)

Orange Tint - Damn, damn, damn. Why can't we beat these idiots? I bet it has something to do with them always having a chance to win the East if they beat us. They were up for this game boys it's just a tough hand to have to play at their house. We almost took em' down though! I bet next year in Knoxville they'll be lucky to score a point.

November 28 - vs Vanderbilt in Knoxville. Vols 42 Dores 27 (7-5)

Orange Tint - We own Vandy baby! Butch owns the state of Tennessee. So proud to be a Vol tonight! Rocky top you'll always be.....

Overall reaction for the year:

Orange Tint - Look at that recruiting class we are bringing in next year. Now that we've got the experience we'll be unstoppable in 2016. I bet we win the National Championship boys. Yeah boy, next year. 16 - hey, next year is 16. Peyton was 16. It's gotta be an omen. We win it all!

----------------

So, I missed it by one game. I think next year "should" be the high point with everything coming together. Time will tell. I think for a writeup that I done in May those were pretty close to accurate predictions.
