Not sure if any of you caught SEC scoreboard, but everyone was impressed with this Tennessee football team. Greg Mcilroy said he was so impressed with Worley's toughness and his leadership. Booger McFarland said he took more away from how UT played than Georgia. This team has tons of fight and it will pay off sooner rather than later. Soon my friends...soon

Even Paul Finebaum tweeted "Now that was impressive Tennessee" Tracey Wolfson of CBS tweeting that she knew CBJ was going to " turn around the program" And Chris Fowler tweets "I know UT not content with moral W's but young Vols showed admirable fight again. Not surprised after what I saw at OU".

The storm is comming and we will be back soon ! Everyone is starting to jump on the bandwagon now.

I havent heard us get so much positive press after a loss in a long time. The scoarboard crew loved us. I think we would have won the game if Worley had not gotten hurt

Last year was closer technically...just saying.

That may be, but look at the circumstances this year. We played Georgia with all of their starting playmakers on the road and Vegas had the line at 17. Factor in those things with true freshman all over the field for us and you have a much more impressive showing.

Moral victory U. Great days we live in Y'all! Maybe Richt will say we played good in his Sunday chalk talk show. Fingers crossed.

Im not a moral victory person at all, but you cant deny that we're seeing the team progress. What was your final score prediction? This team is well on its way to a much better record than the 5-7 and 6-6 predictions.

There's a difference between moral victories and being happy with the way a young team competed for four quarters on the road against a foe ranked 12th in the nation.

Based on some of the reactions I've seen since last night, it seems a lot more people were expecting certain victory against Georgia than I would have guessed. That's the only way I can explain the reaction. Personally, this wasn't one of the games I had marked on my schedule as a probable win.

Heh. Before the game McIlroy said UT couldn't hang hang with GA.

Now he's making noises like he knew we were going to be there at the end all along.

So you're one of these "win now!!!" posters who lack the ability to put anything in context or see the improvement from year 1 to year 2 or from game to game. Posting garbage like this just shows your low football IQ.

I do not remember the exact quote, but in discussing the Michigan situtation and Brady Hoke, an ESPN radio commentator said that "Michigan is a young team." His counterpart then replied that "Tennessee is a young team, but they will scratch and claw and dig and do everything they can to win. They make other teams beat them. I don't see that at Michigan."

I thought it was a nice compliment.

He's trolling man. Always has and always will. Ignore him and he'll move on. All it takes is time to be a guru, not wisdom.

Good point. Michigan and Tennessee are comparable programs that have been in the same situation the last several years. The only difference is that Tennessee seems to be headed in the right direction

i didn't expect a win. I don't expect wins against UF, Bama, Ole Miss, SC or Missouri either. KY and even VU are probably toss ups. What I don't dig is the sanctimonious super fan nonsensical predictions we get week after week coupled with bashing of any poster who attempts to redirect expectations to a reasonable level and then we lose and everyone suddenly jumps back on the side of reason. Let's just cut the hypocrisy, admit that this team is nowhere near ready to compete in the SEC even if it's not quite as bad as it has been lately, and see where it goes next season when there may actually be some accountability for the team's performance? Are we cheerleaders or are we somewhat knowledgeable football fans looking to have realistic discussions? This is a question to the board and not directed to you Freak.

As per my prior post in this thread I'm one of the "don't tell me we're gonna kick someone's azz Monday through Saturday and then try to resort to reason on Sunday after a loss" kind of posters.

Minus Gurley last year. Imagine how UN-close it would have been without Worley the whole game this year, or Hurd. This game was a more fair assessmemt IMO with majority of key players on both teams healthy and this game on the road.

So you see a problem with people believing the team can win, but if the team doesn't win and shows a great performance we gotta put em down? Newsflash, even Neyland didn't win every game.

Or if Peterman did not fumble on the 25 yard line. That was at least 3 points that would have sent us to overtime.

I just don't get it. Isn't the point of being a fan expecting your team to win? Hell, even the ****ing Jags fans expect their crappy team to win!! No wait I'll go farther - even VANDY. Let that sink for a bit. VANDY fans expect Vandy to win their games so why the hell can't we?

Freak,

I think the reaction is that we saw the fight in the team and thought that effort should have won the game. The concern has to do with the ignorance our offensive staff has about top defenses and our line vulnerabilities. You have to set up protections to keep from having bad plays like that fumble in the end zone. The fly sweep against OU when OU is a faster team on defense. Just does not make any sense from a basic football stand point.

Well said! I think a lot of people wrote down a W for this game after South Cockilikey beat Ga. But, Ill take this year of 4-8, 5-7, 6-6,......... whatever, along with the recruiting over any of the Dooley era years! The future is bright! Go VOLS!
