Ive commented on this in the football forum before but now I'm noticing the same thing with basketball games. why do they suppress the crowd noice during these broadcasts? it's awful listening to nothing but the broadcasters without hearing the crowd when a big play happens.
It just means more (interns running the audio for sec network games)

God I hate watching games on SEC network;the crowds always sound dead no matter which arena or how many fans in attendance. And their graphics people are usually slow with keeping up with the correct score etc.Sucks.

I posted this in another thread, but the production is awful. The game was going on and they're showing the crowd. For no reason.

ESPN has a tendency to do this, but I think it's worse on SECN than their regular channels. The ball is coming up court and they show a coach, the bench, or the crowd. I've missed steals, buckets, and fouls because of this idiocy. Yet they keep doing it.

This was really apparent one time Ament was at the foul line. Is it any wonder there are few talented folk in broadcast arts? 🎭

I have hearing problems that is worse at frequencies about at crowd-noise level. I like it when the commentators voices are above it. My hearing graph spikes at that level.

Ok, I thought it was just me. Glad I'm not going crazy.

I find myself either turning down the volume or more so tuning in to the Vol broadcast even though the timing is off a lot more interesting enjoyable
