1. Hurd/Kamara
2. Chubb/Michel
3. Fournette/Guice
4. Williams/Kemp
5. Scarbrough/Harris

Of course, all the UGA fans are up in arms claiming that the TN duo is highly overrated. A few idiots made the claim Michel is better than both Kamara and Hurd and that Kamara wouldn't be a starter on most SEC teams.

Michel currently has a broken hand, and Chubb is coming off a season ending knee injury. I think it is accurate if not they should be even lower. I also think that Scarbrough/Harris will be higher at end of year rankings.

People just don't know about Kamara because we limit his carries. He could easily handle 20-25 carries, but we only need a 10-12 and throw it to him 5 times.

Agreed...if healthy, Michel and Chubb are as good as anybody, but they're not healthy. Michel will likely be fine, but every ACL is different. Chubb may be like Adrian Peterson and go crazy this year... or, he might not be himself until midseason or even later.

There's absolutely no way that Chubb and Michel should be ahead of Fournette and Guice. Actually, no one should be ahead of them. Hurd and Kamara are second. Scarborough and Harris are going to be beasts. Chubb and Michel are way overrated considering their injuries! Georgia better hope their guys round into form soon or it could be a long season for UGA. If we had two injured running backs at this point we would be freaking out, but Georgia thinks it's no big deal. I don't get it!

Michel was a beast in high school. When I lived in South Florida I started hearing about this Sony Michel kid in the 8th grade from a friend of mine who son played with him and my friend was telling me Sony Michel was going to be the Lebron James of football but he kind of just flatten out and just made it on talent alone at American Heritage HS. He is still good no doubt and very talented but I was expecting lots more than we have seen so far. But I will expect he will be lots better this year now that he has experience and a JR.

The kid I was more impressed with in HS was Isiah McKenzie who is also at Georgia and on same HS team as Michel. It seemed like everytime McKenzie touched the ball as a WR or kickoff return or punt returns he always took it to the house. Very exciting player too in HS.

Chubb pre injury was as good as anybody. Michel is a good back but as a tandem there is/was a bigger gap between Chubb and Michel than the other top groups. IMO

Hurd/Kamara, as a duo, actually should be placed ahead right now based on what has happened on the field. Everybody knows how good Fournette is but Guice only had 51 carries for 436 yards last season vs Kamara's 107 for 698. The receiving game is even more lopsided in favor of Kamara.

The on paper argument for Fournette/Guice is strong but as this is a duo comparison Guice has yet to complement Fournette to the degree Kamara has complemented Hurd.

Guice's Yards per carry is crazy at over 8! Lots of great RB's in the SEC!

It's quite a backfield, Fournette was the #1 running back in his class (#4 overall) and Guice was #2 in his class (#15 overall)

Guice will likely get more opportunities this year.

I just think it's laughable the UGA fans refuse to recognize any greatness other than that of their own team. Chubb and Michel are fantastic backs, and you can easily argue if they were 100% healthy they should be ahead of UT, but the fact is they both are going to be coming off of serious injuries, Michel's much less so than Chubb.

I think LSU should be #1 and then push UT/UGA back a slot. Push Bama ahead of UK and your list is correct.

Fournette is a monster and Guice is also fantastic. When you have the #1 RB in college football, and perhaps #1 player, they deserve the top spot.

I thought my stance yesterday that I thought Guice was the 2nd best overall back in college was going off the deep end. Oh well, opinions and all. :)

If he truly thinks the LSU duo is ranked third in the conference, Matt has been head-slapped too many times.

This is so true - and I know I live in Georgia, but it seems that almost all UGA fans can't mentally accept that they are not the greatest football program in all aspects of all time.

I'm not an expert on anybody else's players. But, I'll say this. That run that Sony Michel did on us for about 50 yards last year was one of the greatest I've ever seen. He broke the tackle of the same guy (McNeil) 2 times in one run! Plus more than a few others. That guy's a freaking beast.

Now, UGAers whined @ losing Chubb. But, I would say about 100 other D1 schools would love to be in a "predicament" with Michel and the other guy.

Hopefully I don't come as bitter or anything, I actually mentioned it yesterday in the other thread about backs that would start in other conferences, but my comments were more geared towards an all around back. There is nothing wrong with being in the top 3 per se, and I think the other guys are very good i.e. Hurd and Chubb.

I think McCaffrey is better than Guice as an all around back but not sure I would trade him for anyone but McCaffrey. Guice is kind of the offensive version of Tyrann Mathieu, he is fun to watch, and he just doesn't care about all this.

Of course, ESPN ranked LSU's OL at 2nd in conference, now I have no idea how they came up with that.... they have a lot to prove and they shouldn't even be in the top 5 right now.

I'm just a little shocked that someone decided to one up me. Haha.

The injury can't be ignored but leading up to his injury have you actually availed yourself to how productive Chubb had been?

After 311 rushes in his career prior to injury Chubb had rushed for 2294 yards. That's 7.4ypc...in the SEC. For comparison here's a few names with their carries and yardage rounded to the nearest game total.

Derrick Henry
327-2037

Leonard Fournette
306-2056

Hershel Walker
304-1777

Bo Jackson
305-2138

Those are all SEC backs so just for reference.
Christian McCaffrey
302-1815

Chubb's production up to his injury has been nothing short of super-elite.

I definitely think that we have the best duo in the league. I honestly don't think it would change much if it was Hurd/kelly either. Hurd is a man amongst boys and Kamara is a lightning bolt. With some experience I think Kelly could be just as good if not Better than Kamara. The boy has got determination and motivation and I love that.
