I probably wouldn't pick us either. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think we'll be in the competition for the east.

When you have a season like the Vols had last season, this is what happens. If we're better than that, we're going to have to prove it. Respect is earned on the field.

Yep. At this point we could have 3-deep 5th year senior 5-stars at every position and we still wouldn't get picked. Sport writers and coaches have been burned too many times picking us as favorites. At some point it needs to come together on the field. I think we are really at the point where people need to see it to believe it.

and we know that the SEC media or any other media for that matter are great prognosticators. Their guesses don't carry any more weight than anyone else on here, IMO.

By "too many times" do you mean once?

True. Having a chip on their shoulders might be just what Team 121 needs. If the players want to prove everybody wrong, the opportunity is there. September is their chance to show up and shut up the doubters.

Does anyone know how many times the media has correctly predicted the East Division Champion over the last 15 years? 2 times.

I'm not sure if that's entirely accurate, but it sounds good and I think I heard it somewhere.

We didn't play for the SEC Championship last year when we absolutely should have.

No reason to think anyone should pick us this year after losing multiple players and having a more difficult schedule.

Agree, "the proof is in the pudding" The losses to candy and scar were very embarrassing, we were clearly not ready to play those opponents. Makes one wonder how in Hades did that happen!

The media is loving Muschamp these days. Beating UT last year changed the narrative on him and Mason, too. If they'd lost to the Vols and missed a bowl game, everything would be radically different.

Anyone that takes these polls to seriously or as a fact will usually be sorely disappointed. Very few time have the sports writers got their picks right, their percentage isn't favorable at all. I relish being picked 3rd, the Vols have a good chance if we stay healthy and focused. GBO!!!!!

How do you vote to win championship when you are not picked to win the division?
