Well the media knows more than we do so I guess thats right. But I do think they are good enough to not play on the first day of the SEC tourney. But hey the media knows more than I do for sure.

Well i saw another article which said something along the lines of its anyone's game in the spots 3-14. I think this is accurate too many question marks....We could be a NCAA tourney contender or a CBI team

Guys this is like finding a wallet at the mall before you look inside. No one knows if there is money in it or not. Got to wait until its opened to see what we got. The media feels the same way. With the new wall paper on this team it could stick or come right off. To many new faces to know if its a contender or pretender.

We got a better coach and wayyy better players here now then when ccm was here for his first year and we was predicted something like 13 or 12 I dont remember could have been a little higher but doubt it ....we will be fine and show ppl more then they excepted

Unless every single team in the conference got much much better, theres no way we finish 13th.

Maybe 8th or 9th, more likely 5th or 6th, but not 13th.

Martin was left with Kenny Hall, Renaldo Woolridge, Cam Tatum, Jordan McRae, Jeronne Maymon, and Trae Golden, all Top 100 Four Star players. Then you throw in a 5 star Stokes mid-season. How is this current roster "wayyy better" than what Martin had his first year?

Impossible to know who's roster is better at this point. But Hall, Woolridge nor Tatum played like top 100 guys. And McRae was still raw so its possible this years team could be better. Jmo

I think this years roster is better than that one but the reason it is is because of Donnie Tyndall and the talent he brought in during the spring to go with the 4 returnees.

You obviously haven't seen much of Kenny Hall, Renaldo Woolridge, and Cam Tatum. Trae Golden was a liability on the defensive end every trip down and was a very streaky offensive player. McRae and Maymon are the only two of those six to pan out.

I'll always remember that Georgetown game from Tatum. He was unconscious that night, then shut it down the next 3 years.

I saw them, never said they were awesome college players, just that they were talented and highly ranked. My point is Martin's first team was more talented than Tyndall's first team, and I don't see how a poster can intelligently argue that this team is way better than Martin's.

That's just it though, they weren't very talented, and "highly ranked" doesn't equate to major contributors at the college level. Hall and Woolridge were terrible, and Cam was only slightly better.

I don't see anyone arguing definitively that one team was better than the other. Right now, this Tennessee team is a total mystery, but the bar wasn't set high by half the players you mentioned as being talented and highly ranked.
