In December, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey announced the event would be held in Atlanta.

The SEC Media Days had been held in Hoover at the Wynfrey Hotel for the past 17 years. Both the SEC and the Wynfrey had been operating on year-to-year contracts, as reported by AL.com in July .

At the time of the December announcement, Sankey added that the move was not permanent and left the door open to return to Hoover or to move on to other locations throughout the conference's footprint.

Check out the week's schedule below:

MONDAY, July 16

Kentucky - Mark Stoops
LSU - Ed Orgeron
Texas A&M - Jimbo Fisher

TUESDAY, July 17
Arkansas - Chad Morris
Florida - Dan Mullen
Georgia - Kirby Smart
Ole Miss - Matt Luke

WEDNESDAY, July 18
Alabama - Nick Saban
Mississippi State - Joe Moorhead
Missouri - Barry Odom
Tennessee - Jeremy Pruitt

THURSDAY, July 19

But look out for the reverse Troll and they let Butch Rep Bama

LOL. Not likely that Saban, the ultimate control freak, (especially when it comes to media availability, and delivery of message and mission statements regarding his program) would let Butch anywhere near a microphone while in any official capacity or even while wearing a bookstore bought bama shirt.

Saban, a master of controlling the narrative. And Butch a master at infuriating, confusing, and evoking eye rolls from all those in attendance.

Yeah thats like Rommel selecting Col Klink to go fetch the spear of destiny.

Build some character, load with seniors if at all possible. Maybe a standout junior like Bituli, but try and promote your last year guys.

I keep forgetting Jimbo Fisher is now coaching in the SEC. Just seems strange to me.

Can’t take JG because he’ll begin his QB battle with Chryst and can’t possibly be named the starter until well after Media Days happens. Agree with Smith, seems like a no brainer. I think Phillips would be an excellent choice as well. Not sure who the 3rd would be.

There's not been any starters named yet, so who he takes doesn't mean they will start. I'm betting he takes some SR's or guys who have shown to be leaders. I could see SR's or upperclassmen like TK Jr, Hall,Taylor,Chryst,Johnson,DK Jr,Tuttle etc.I could see Chryst going before JG just for the fact he's a SR and has proven to be a better public speaker. That's not a shot at JG at all, but even you couldn't say he's a guy you want speaking at your first Sec Media Days. But back to what I was originally saying, it doesn't mean the guys he takes are the guaranteed starter's at their position. We can assume a few positions, but nothing is set. So he will probably take the upperclassmen, who are good public speaker's and won't look out of place speaking to that crowd.

Now Jimbo has to deliver, with the kind of money he’s making. It’s put up or shut up, he’s being paid to beat Saban.

He was 3 years removed from winning a Natty and was shown the door after another winning season........ Coaching at this level is a nasty nasty job. Certainly not for me.

Qb position is different from any other on the team. If I was a betting man, I’d bet heavily that neither Guarantano nor Chryst go to Media days because they’ll be in a battle in August, after SEC media days, to see who starts. Conversely, if we had a clear cut starter at QB already, they’d be an odds-on favorite to be one of three, that’s not really debatable.

Regarding the other positions, never said they have to be starters....I’m not certain Phillips will start but I could very easily see him one of the three, especially given some of the positive things JP had to say about him in the Spring. That said, your leaders, guys you’d want to have represent your program are guys who have shown themselves to be the best players on the team....and the best players on the team typically start.

I would take it, and I know nothing about coaching. I do know all you need to do is sign the contract and you and your family are set for life. You don’t even have to be a winner!

Well first guy that comes to mind is Trey Smith absolutely believe he is one of the three. The next two could be toss ups but I believe Callaway is another well spoken kid that could go, then lastly is the hardest, I could see a few guys, I could see Warrior, TKjr, Kyle Phillips, bituli. I don’t think it will be any new additions such as freshmen, jucos or grad transfers.

My gut tells me...
Trey Smith
Marquez Callaway
Kyle Phillips

It's not gonna be in Hoover anymore..They moved it to Atlanta. Which sux cause I live 15 mins from Hoover and go every year. I say Chryst, TK Jr and D.Taylor.

Chryst?? Dude has never played a snap at Tennessee, never worn the orange and white. Heck, he’s never even taken a practice snap/rep at Tennessee, never even been coached by any coach on the staff.....and you think he’ll be at SEC media days representing the program? Wow, that’s beyond bold.

I’d guess that Phillips and Richmond will go, not sure who the third would be.

Kongbo, Tuttle, and Phillips are all seniors who need to dominate this year. Having three big defensive players with you would send a message and possibly spur some leadership and reward in solid play. You could also go Guarantano, Phillips, and Hall. These three also will set the tone for a winning season or not. Hall has played for four years, injured, and stuck around for his senior year. I got a feeling Trey Smith will be going the next couple years.
