SEC Media Days

The Vols will be at Day 2 of SEC Media Days on Tuesday, July 12. The other schools there that day are UGA, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State, so aside from Kirby Smart's introduction, I think it's safe to assume we'll be the marquee name that day.

Who do you think should represent the Vols that day? I say Sutton, Kamara, and JRM. They're returning for their senior year, I say they've earned it.

It will be seniors. This senior class has enough talent to make meaningful for seniors to be the focus.

These are the 3 obvious team leaders. Only Kamara deserves to mentioned as well.

I would go along with your 3 logical picks. Hurd perhaps if he gets any AA or Heisman buzz maybe, but that's doubtful as long as Fournette and McCaffrey are around. Hurd's big year for accolades should be his senior year if he hangs around IMO.

Hurd and Barnett might be the two best players on our team but they are both quiet guys. I don't know if you noticed but they don't like to talk much. They are also not part of the player leadership council.

The SEC media day isn't about just sending the best pure players on your team. Its about sending the leaders.

And the leaders on this team are Josh Dobbs, Cam Sutton, JRM, Alvin Kamara, and Jason Croom. Croom is obviously not on the same level as those guys which is why I didn't name him with Kamara.

When has dobbs been an AA or heisman candidate?

Hurd being a junior rather than a senior as Dobbs and the other 2 are in my mind needs that lift to be there. No slight on Hurd, we just need a return of seniors being pushed to the front. Hurd will get a lot of camera time this year due to his well regarded performances. Enough to lift him above Fournette & McCaffrey? Time will tell.
