Tennessee defensive back Eric Berry was the freshman of the week.

Tebow rushed for five touchdowns and passed for two more in Florida's 51-31 win at South Carolina. He completed 22 of 32 passes for 304 yards, rushed for 120 yards on 26 carries and has now accounted for an SEC-record 42 touchdowns.

Tebow's five rushing touchdowns is tied for the season high among NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision players.

Congrats to Eric Berry. Tebow should win the Heisman with out a doubt.

Tebow's a one man team and he will get injured sometime...you guys can have a heisman winner every year as long as you lose three games each year...i wouldn't mind that at all...

I hate Tebow since hes at florida but you cant argue with those stats... Tebow for Heisman

Doesn't deserve the heisman. Gets the ball way too much. If Florida even had a RB on the roster he wouldn't be rushing for that much and accounting for that many rush TDs...

Most teams think - hey we're on the 2 yard line.. lets give it to our RB. Meyer says screw the RB position ill just run my QB as much as possible and try to pad his stats.

Okay, bass, why exactly should they give it to a RB when Tebow is better than any on their roster? I don't like the guy, but he's a damn baller and I'm not going to let my UT bias get in the way when I say that he is heisman worthy. Who do you think should win it? McFadden? I'm pretty sure Arky does quite a bit the same with him that UF does with Tebow. They give it to him a ton and even put him at QB to give him more touches. Who else? A QB that throws it 40+ times a game? The fact is that, if you have a heisman type gamebreaker on offense, you give him as many touches as possible.

If I had McFadden and Tebow to run it, I'm giving it to McFadden every single time.

O yeah, no doubt. If I had to pick one to pass, I'd choose Tebow. It'd be a tough call between who I'd pick for the run/throw option.

You could always think of it this way: would you rather have Tebow and a subpar RB or McFadden and a subpar QB?

The fact is - he probably has WAY more touches than any over the other candidates so his stats are awesome. I have no doubt they could hand it off at the 2 to a RB and get some of those TDs just as easy as Tebow gets em.

The RB position is non-existant in Meyer's offense right now. I just think that gives him an advantage. Dixson has impressed me more. It just seems too similar to the Colt Brennan situation at Hawaii. He's basically the only player they rely on and he puts up heisman worthy stats - just not as lopsided as the Hawaii situation since UF has Percy Harvin to hand off to occasionally

And the fact that UF plays in the SEC and not the WAC. If Brennan put up those stats against SEC comp, he would deserve the heisman.

The only way I'd consider Tebow for heisman is if his touches aren't considerably higher than the other candidates. But I'm obviously not a voter.

If they are similar - then I'd put him in the top 3 at this point... but I doubt this is the case. I really like Dennis Dixon though.

I also think the fact that a ton of his passing yardage comes in huge chunks shows how many game breakers he has the option to throw to. Too many 70 yard TD passes and haven't seen him do enough of the tough stuff where his WR isn't wide open right over the middle of the field.

I think it's all a moot point if Oregon keeps winning. There will be a huge push for Dennis Dixon to win if they don't drop another game.

stop with the sour grapes. If Tebow can run effeciently why shouldnt he run. If he can do it himself why should he give it to someone else. The guys a player as much as I dont want him to be good since hes a Gator, he is a good player.

I never said he wasn't a good player. Dennis Dixon is a good runner.. faster but not as strong but you don't see them without a RB.

I'm all for Tebow taking the ball every play - but I don't believe that should give him an unfair advantage if that is the case. I think they have to look at how many more touches he has and realize a lot of these other heisman candidates would put up even better numbers with the same opportunity.

And yes - Tebow is a great player and never said differently.

I hear what you're saying. They both have good numbers. Here are their stats:

Dennis Dixon 167 246 2074 67.9 8.43 20 3 163.1
Dennis Dixon 103 549 5.3 80(TD) 8

Tim Tebow 173 255 2532 67.8 9.93 23 5 177.1
Tim Tebow 170 718 4.2 25 19

Quite a few more rush attempts for Mr. Tebow. Although, I didn't know Tebow had 500 more passing yards.

I'd still give Dixon the edge for being on the team with a better record at this point and I don't think his WRs are as explosive at Tebow's.

...probably right, but I like my bias gettin' in the way:)
