SEC freshman running backs

Wow !
Some of the Hurd is not an elite RB comments make you want to scratch your head.
Do we really need to make such an assumption at this stage in his career ?
I for one was holding my breath while he was deciding what school to attend. Everyone on this board was likely doing the same.
I believe Hurd > Chubbs
Time will tell.
Anyone that knows anything about football would know the OL will be much improved starting with the bowl game.
Next year ...It's on !

Our OL is below par. Hurd is just as good as Chubb or Fournette IMO

I am not one to usually disagree with a fellow vol supporter. However, I hate to say this but Hurd is simply not in the category with Chubb or Fournette. Regardless what line he runs behind. Strictly my opinion of 68 years experience watching college football Hurd is not the same style running back as Chubb or Fournette. Hurd is more of a power back. They are finesse backs.

Even with our Line, if Hurd got just a small crease he was gonna get something. He ran hard for us, and is only going to improve as our Line does. Kid is a bruiser and will run right at you and has good hands. I'll keep Hurd thank you.

If you think Chubb and Fournette are a little better thats fine but to say they are in a completely different league than Hurd is just ridiculous.

Since you apparently know football, what in the world makes you think this OLINE will be much improved in three weeks? Sure, they may be healthier but the names on the jerseys haven't changed. I hope they look good in the bowl game but these same 4 or 5 guys are not the answer next year. Jmo

Chubb has better vision than the other two imo. Hurd and Fournette are about the same in all aspects but LSU just had a better line.

Take off the Orange glasses you homer!!!!:)
Homer??? That's quite a laugh coming from an apparent negavol. I knew from noticing the OP that this would end up being a homer fest. Chubb is fast, powerful, cuts quickly in tight holes and is a good tackle breaker. Fournette is a superb athlete with above average speed and finesse. Where does that leave Mister Hurd? Since UT's O-line is the thinnest and least experienced I've seen in the SEC, disregarding maybe Vandy and UK, Hurd's had to take the hard route most every play. This is going to change even faster than you'll ever admit...maybe even to a degree on January 2nd. Jalen's overall skillset is comparable with any back in the nation, plus he can BLOCK. Call some of us homers with orange colored Ray Bans, but at least we're not UGA homers.

How can anyone be saying Hurd isn't as good as so and so? No one can make that judgement until they've seen him play behind a real OL.

Come on! Did you already forget just how bad it actually was? Worley got beat to hell and back because of it. Only reason everyone seems to have magically let it escape their mind is Dobbs came in and ran around for his life and hid the issue.

All of the players wear gps in practice according to CBJ, and guess who comes in at fastest? Hurd, believe it or not. Give the kid a break. Did anyone even watch this year? Yes he seemed a bit sluggish in the first half of the season.

Anyone remember seeing all the comments on him during the last half? "Does he look faster to you?" "Wow he does look faster!" Oh I'm sure that had absolutely nothing to do with him sitting his whole senior season of football out and not taking up a normal workout routine again until we really started practicing for this season. He's just now hitting his groove. Sit back and enjoy it.

This thread is about Hurd compared to Chubb and fournette. Just because tge other two are better does not mean that he sucks....

I'm guessing your sarcasm meter is trashed. It also helps to read through threads so you can understand the context of some of the posts being made.

Hurd is very versatile but he will remain in fournette and Chubb's shadow. He is very good though. Fournette is on another level than the other two. He is scary good.

Chubb does not taking a back seat to anyone. Fournette is very good but at this point no way you can say he is at "another level". The only back in UGA history with more yards in a season than Chubb is Walker.

Wait and see my man......wait and see. Chubb is very very good......but I would bet that fournette is by far the better pro prospect. Wow, what a blend of size and speed! Fournette is a once in a generation type back.

Hurd's as good as either Chubb or Fornette. You give those two the same carries behind our offensive line that Hurd got and there stats would be the same as his. Hurd was the best RB in the country his JR year.

My post obviously went over your head. It also proves that you read none of the thread.

Not taking away from this player but it's hard to believe that the other 5-star Georgia commit (Sony Michel) was ranked higher than Chubb!

Michel is outstanding in his own right. Was injured against us or I believe everyone would've been talking about Georgia's freshman 2 headed monster this year. When Gurley was suspended and Michel was hurt, Chubb became the workhorse and was obviously outstanding. He may be a little better than Michel but not by much imo.

How's the vodka in Kosovo? My aim was to admonish you for your loose "homer" crap when the poster was defending Hurd over the comments of those who were unfavorably comparing him to Chubb and Fournette. If you call people names in person as you do on this site, I'm sure you're popular with your dentist. Re-read which poster you were shallowly insulting. Happy New Year.

Chubb is only 3 inches and 2 lbs smaller, is shiftier and I would bet just as fast as Fournette. And if I'm correct, it was Chubb and not Fournette who led SEC RBs in yards after contact. No way Fournette is the far better pro prospect. They'll both be gone to the pros in 2 years and it'll be a coin flip as to who is more coveted and eventually has the better pro career imo.

He wasn't giving me crap. Once again you should read some of the thread up until what I posted.
