Yeah, not sure why anyone thinks there will be better OOC games with a 9th SEC game.
They want 2 weekends worth of B1G vs SEC play in games along side the championship games, leading into the playoff. That's what they mean by "better OOC". The 9th game is a condition the B1G wants because they think them playing 9 conferences games is a disadvantage. Strength of Schedule says otherwise.

It would make lots of money because the play ins would presumably be on campus instead of at neutral sites. But half the SEC would have another loss per year and kill regular season OOC games. We'd be playing ourselves imo.

I am reading the transcript and do not see anything about Jermod McCoy. Did he mention if his ACL was better and if we can expect him for the Syracuse game?

Nobody asked him about McCoy. Sigh

“I think with the injury in his rehab process, it’s how he encounters the next phase and the next stage as he continues to prepare himself and get ready to play,” Heupel said. “I saw him the other day and he is going through his rehab. He looks really good. His moving skills are good. It’s a progression throughout the course of the end of summer and through training camp. We’ll figure that out as we get into the season. Keep it in mind, obviously, we want him, he’s a huge part of us defensively, but his short-term and long-term health, as well.”

I am not worried about McCoy for the Syracuse game. Syracuse lost their QB and has some transfer from LSU who has never seen the field. I don't feel like they are a team that will really test our secondary. Now, week 3 versus UGA, I would really like to see him healthy on the field.

Their starting QB is a ND transfer that has experience and skill but still a new QB to their system. Both teams O will be in the same situation.

Comment on the Syracuse game yesterday on SEC media days about their starting QB and new HC:

"Be careful," Cubelic said. "Be very careful. Steve Angeli, the quarterback at Notre Dame who came in the playoffs last year and looked exception in the Orange Bowl, is going to be the starting quarterback for the Orange, and he is a ballplayer. And that's a coach that just sat right there with Kirby Smart for a couple of years on his staff, Fran Brown, that knows how to get his young men ready to play."
