SEC East title next season

The defense is gonna be a nasty beast. 'Orange Crush' is one year away. The dl will be monsters, cam will be cam, younger players that got a lot of playing time this year will be veterans in the secondary, hurd will be stronger and experienced, Kamarawill be lightening, Dobbs will be more experienced and stronger, wrs will return healthy, Oline will be shuffled to more natural positions(hopefully), and hopefully the group will grasp scheme better and have time to form some consistency. I think we will definitely be in the mix for the East. I'm not gonna be unrealistic and say we win it, but We definitely have a lot of things to be thankful for.

Yea we are right on the cusp. All we need is a quarterback, 2 offensive tackles, some wide receivers that can create some separation from man pressure and actually catch the ball, some tight ends that can block and catch the ball, a new middle linebacker, 3 defensive tackles, and a nickel back. Other then that we are ready to roll.

I think we need the OL to advance during the offseason, but we will also need one or both of th freshmen QBs to step up and be ready to play. If Dobbs does not improve his passing game one of the freshmen will have to play against the best tams we are playing. Even if Dobbs' passing game becomes average, he will be subject to injury. Hardly ant team is able to play an entire season without offering an injury to a running QB. That is just the way it is.

Let's hope the second coming of Peyton Manning comes soon (but doesn't choke in post season)

With Hurd likely being the only returner at RB, a weak OL, only one good QB in Dobbs, and a big ? At MLB, we will not win the East next year. 2016 will be better.

Kamara is very proven in the juco ranks. Plus we have a bevy of young talent in rbs. That is the least of my concerns. Our mlb will be fine, I could play mlb behind the manimals that we have rotating in at dts. The secondary will be much improved. The only thing I can agree on is the qb and oline being sketchy. It's mainly the line. It's hard to judge the qb that played behind our bigs this year. Do you not think that redshirted Juco OT will allow some to be placed in their natural positions cat bone? I'm hoping that's the case. I'm also hoping CBJ pulls a surprise and gets a freshman Ot in this recruiting class that's ready now.

I watched both Jones and Stewart in the Blue Cross Bowl. Neither were impressive players. They essentially ended each play standing on the same spot of earth they were standing on at the beginning. Admittedly, Stewart is an OG playing OT and DE, so that may make a difference. However, I'll really be surprised if I am surprised by either of them.

I watched Chad Clifton in high school and I wasn't impressed with him and he played 9 seasons in the NFL, so who knows.

I coached against Clifton when he was a senior. I wasn't impressed either. But he was zone blocking road grader in college. They always say you can't coach big or speed. He was big. So maybe these boys will do ok.

Right now I'd take an 8-4 or 9-3 season all day long, regardless whether the Vol's win the SEC East or not. The Vol's still have a way to go to be like the best teams in the SEC day in day out, probably 2016-17 truth be told.
Go Vol's

Injuries and depth problems since the Alabama game shows why we need 2 more seasons of solid recruits.
Some solid gameday coaching wouldn't hurt either.

I think we end up 2nd next year. 7 or 8 wins. It will be fun to watch us get better game by game over the next few years.

I have been on here for years and years and posted many times on a different handle. Not real sure what that has to do with anything. I just don't see any reason to have much optimism after watching this offensive. It is not like you just wake up and all the sudden you go from being wildly inaccurate to being on time. Quarterbacks are either accurate or not. Dobbs has zero touch and I just don't see where he can develop that in the off season. Sure with practice he might start to understand a good quarterback needs to vary the speeds of his throws instead of using only fastballs, but there is a reason he was behind Peterman. You guys all want to believe Dobbs was third string because he wanted to red shirt...he was 3rd string behind the worst quarterback I have ever seen in college football because he can't complete a 5 yard out 50% of the time. That is the truth and nothing else. Couple that with the fact that there are no tackles over there they are waiting to unleash on the SEC next year and I just don't see where we improve drastically next year on offense. Certainly everyone is free to believe I am being a negavol, but I think it is just being realistic. Blair could not beat out a true freshman that was a converted center or a converted guard. I just don't think Blair's coming out party is going to resemble that of Chuck Webb or Carl Pickens. I sure hope I am wrong and Dobbs develops the accuracy of Greg Maddox over the off season, but based upon his progression to this point I don't have much ground to find any optimism.

It is amazing what ONE game can do to a fan base. If the season goes as it did with exception of a okay or two at the USCe game and go 5-7 the we suck we are not progressing Dobbs sucks we can only recruit to we will win the east. I don't think that we be the case BUT..... We will win at least 8 games

Taking off my ORANGEShaded glasses for a moment.

I would expect 7 wins, 8 if we upset someone. Anything more than that will be gravy.

ORANGEshades back on now.

UNDEFEATED season by darn,, one the General himself would be proud of.

georgia and missouri are losing a ton of talent and should be down---fla will have a new coach and they have little talent on offense---UT should be able to win the division
