She is over paid especially if you include her husband’s salary. I’m not a real big Barnes fan and feel he is also overpaid. But at least men’s basketball pays it own way.

So Coach Kellie is one of the very highest paid women’s basketball coaches. I knew she made as much or more than the Indiana coach who has been there over 15 years.

You have to look at the big picture with WBB because no program in NCAAW BB pays its own way. So every school has to decide how much to “invest” in this high profile (and growing) sport. You can make the case that the Geno, Kim, Dawn and Tara types are good investments in a big picture way for each school. Regardless, the average pay has increased tremendously the past ten years, and if a school decides they want to be a big time player in this sport they cannot go cheap and expect big things, because even the “above average” type coaches make good money now.

Fulmer financially took care of her when he brought her in, because he could as AD. Nothing wrong with that. Whether she was over paid will be determined soon.
