I don't think I have ever seen a league at one time have the quality of coaching that the SEC does right now.

Check this out:
Meyer-national championship
Spurrier- national championship
Fulmer- national championship
Saban- national championship
Reicht- SEC championships and BCS bowls
Miles- SEC championship and playing in the national championship
Tuberville- coached Auburn to an undefeated season and an SEC championship.
Brooks- has taken UK to a bowl in back-to-back years, which is an accomplishment
Nutt- took Arkansas to like 3 SEC championship games in 7 years.
And now Petrino who took Louisville to the Orange Bowl and won last year.

That's pretty much insane for one league to have that quality of coaching. It goes to show you where the power is in college football right now.

Its just getting tougher. Petrino just another quality coach now in the sec. This conference is loaded from top to bottom. Recruiting will just get tougher and tougher. Depressing to say the least. What will phil do now. We are surrounded by quailty coaches in every state we used to cherry pick guys from.

Instead of starting a new thread I shall bring it up here.....Well the Fulmer needs a raise talk has left the gate! With the hiring of BP the talk on the radio this morning.....Fulmer will get a big raise to put him back towards the top. Why? Once again the magic word is recruiting. How can The Dean of the SEC be paid in the middle of the pack? I guess CPF is happy with Arkansas hiring....the man once on the hot seat is now a worth more......without even having to play a game.

Auburn deserved a share of the national title that year. And I'm sure they have rings which reflect that sentiment.

The coaching also goes in hand with the amazing amount of talent the SEC has. Gonna be very hard to go undefeated anymore.

These guys are good. They are also crazy.

Beating each other up in the same conference, where only one can emerge a Title contender, is borderline lunacy. Much easier to succeed to a nationally prominent level elsewhere...

This conference ain't tough enough.

Once science figures out how, we are going to resurrect the Bear and General Neyland and add them back in the mix.

several on that list are going to have to see their reputations tarnished over the next decade or so. not enough room for all of them to succeed

SEC needs a play off.

Rest of college football world, no way in hades that there is a need for a play off.

Best teams in CFB will be in the SEC year in and year out...........................most will have two losses and rarely ever get the chance to play in the NCG.

How much is Petrino getting paid?

I do think that his hiring at Arky completely discredits the angle that Tennessee couldn't get a big name coach if they got rid of Phil.

So how many of those coaches would you rather have over Fulmer?

Haven't you guys in the SEC heard the commandment

"Thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife"

What's up with all the coaching carousels with the SEC coaches. I wouldn't want a conf. rival to come to my school.

Because there is only one coach in the Big Ten that is worth a damn and that's Tressel...

Somebody has to finish 2nd-6th in each division. It's going to be interesting which fan base impodes first when considering wins vs. cost.

UAT?
UM?
UAF?
LSU?
AU?
MSU? (although the coach of the year in SEC is the lowest paid in the whole league)

It will probably roll around to the West being fairly dominant within the conference and Florida playing the roll of Bama in the 90s.
