Only conference records count. Alabama, UGA, A&M, and OM all went 7-1 in SEC play. UGA and Alabama won the tiebreakers due to conference opponent win percentage (their conference opponents were better than A&M and OM's).I see Georgia and Alabama are again heading to the championship game. Can someone tell me how a 11 -1 Texas A & M team gets bypassed by a 10 - 2 Alabama team? No skin off my teeth either way but not understanding what's the reasoning is.
Thanks! Still doesn't seem right but I figure it's only the second year for playoffs and officials are still experimenting with criteria.Only conference records count. For the upcoming SEC Championship game, Georgia is favored by 2.5 points (Georgia -2.5) against Alabama, with the total (over/under) set around 47.5 to 48.5 points, making it a close contest between two top teams. Betting lines vary slightly by sportsbook, but Georgia (-2.5) is consistently the favorite, and Alabama (+2.5) the underdog.
Give me Over 47.5 and Bama
I just think if they get beat by 10+ Miami will jump them. You'll see the tide motivated and ready to roll. The injury report for Bama is ugly
For the 2025 SEC Championship, Alabama had several players out (DBs Kameron Howard, Dre Kirkpatrick; DLs LT Overton, Jeremiah Beaman; RBs Kevin Riley; LBs Jah-Marien Latham, Kelby Collins) and key players like RB Jam Miller, OL Kam Dewberry, and TEs Josh Cuevas & Danny Lewis Jr. were questionable with injuries, with Overton and Collins out due to illness.
My only observation, though it is determined by strength of schedule within the conference,v there's only 2 teams that made it to 11 total wins. The SEC is strong pretty much from top to bottom. Oh well, not going to worry too much because we are definitely out of either. Waiting to see who we get in a bowl game nowNot sure what the playoffs have to do with it, the participants were determined by conference opponents.
