I've always liked the GA Dome actually. It can be a little sterile, but it's a comfortable place to watch a game and there's plenty to do in Atlanta.
If I'm going to be forced to watch a game in a dome, I'll take the Superdome. There's a little bit to do in New Orleans.

Not a bad football venue. However, it's the worst basketball site of all time.

I agree with that. The seating setup is awkward, not to mention I don't see how anybody can shoot in there as cavernous as it is.

I think the best thing to do would be having it at an OVC school. I'm thinking Tenn. Tech would be the best bet. It's centrally located, plenty of chain restaurants, new turf and let's not forget the best reason.....it's 15 minutes from me. If you believe my post was serious please step away from your computer.

If we're going that route, I'm voting for APSU. Murray could be the alternate site so I could stay at the lake.

My vote would be to have it at UTC's stadium then. Only about 15 minutes away and I could stay with some friends on the lake as well:)

Move it around -
New Orleans, Atlanta, Jacksonville (might be a problem with ACC), Nashville, etc.

I am biased, but I think New Orleans is the best. 30,000 hotel rooms right downtown, withing walking distance to the game and the French Quarter. That is tough to beat.

Im glad football is in ATL due to travel, along with basketball. Which is also why I like it being Nashville. But I think to make it fair, the SEC should let the East and West host the tournament every other year.

Example:
Football and Basketball be in Atlanta one year. Following year move both tournaments to New Orleans, then back to Atlanta. Id say LSU fans will get sick of goin to Atlanta every year, cuz theyll pretty much represent the West in the future consistently. But either way, most teams in the SEC will have a good fan base, regardless of the travel.

I do wish that every conf, other than SEC, ACC, Big 12, should have a conference championship in football.

The FedEx forum would be the best venue for the SEC Championship - bar none. I've never liked basketball played in a dome - it should be in an arena.

I always thought Charlotte would make the most sense for the ACC championship. I think they made a logistical error in picking Jax.

That being said, I know there isn't any SEC representation in NC but if they were to move the game from Atlanta then I think Charlotte would be the next best thing. Its the sister city of Atlanta and has an outdoor stadium. It would make for some great football weather.

No sec representation=no reason to play there. Would it make sense to have the ACC championship in Nashville?

i HATE that the SEC championship game is indoors in football. I know this isn't Big 10 country, but there's something about playing indoors that seems "fake." I like an open air stadium for my college football.

I agree with you 10,000 percent. The Georgia Dome sux.

Wut about bringin back the ol football days @ ETSU and playin both championships in the mini-dome lol.

Kudos, to the one who said UTC (Chattanooga) would be a great venue for basketball. With that being said, I kinda agree, that place is 2 nice for UTC. Thas like an NBA arena. Id like 2 see the arena full. It wouldnt be that fun playin in an arena that big, being empty like that.
