They're doing the obvious... tracking the spot, down and distance and generally doing what these linesman says to do. They also help with game flow by spotting flags and writing down where the ball is spotted on each play in case it has to be referenced for a review, flag etc. One of the guys also records penalties.I’m in with the most people.

It's not rocket science, but between the stick men, the box guy, clip man and 1st down marker guy, there's a lot of moving parts.
