I am convinced that many on this forum are not just pessimists... But are actual idiots. UT lost and it hurt, but there were tons of positives and looked like a top 10 team for half the game. And a top 10 defense for the whole game (without our defensive leader CM). Below is a list of teams that have AS MANY or MORE question marks and grievances as UT after this weekend... UT fans, it appears have been beat into dramatic teenage girls.

Georgia
Auburn
Notre Dame
Arkansas
Baylor
Oklahoma
Florida
South Carolina
Missouri
Kentucky
Vanderbilt
Boise State

Hard to call: LSU and Miss State

It's mind blowing that our fans are calling for coaches heads and writing off all sec performers after an overtime loss to a ranked team. When, as posted in another thread, it's clear UT is improving every season under BUTCH!

Anyone calling for a coaching change is either an imbecile or just someone who is letting the frustration that we are all feeling get the better of them.

I personally don't feel like it's possible for any Vol fan to be more disappointed than I was at the end of last night's game. But I have to acknowledge the fact that there were many more positives than negatives. I am the kind of fan who HATES to lose more than I like to win, but I still feel it's undeniable that we are moving in the right direction as a program.

Finally, a thread where people are making sense! I just wanted to thank the previous posters for not being idiots and actually attempting to understand what's going on here.

It's amazing that you think this should be some kind of consolation. It is time for winning not excuses.

For sake of argument, is it ok for Tennessee to have played poorly because everyone else did?

I don't think they played poorly. My point is that this is football... There are only a couple teams in all collegefootball who can go through a season and not have multiple games/quarters/halves when it seems like things are falling apart.

As for the vols performance I think they killed it the first half, then put themselves in MULTIPLE positions to win in the second half... But ended up with a real bad streak of backwards plays (getting out of field goal range), missed a field goal, and extended OU's last drives with awful penalties and missed "gimme" sacks.

It's more amazing, and pitiful, that fans like you think UT should fire its coach, replace the QB, and concede loss to Florida because of a mixed performance.

What's more amazing is that folks like assume that last nights game is the genesis, it's not.
