SEC/ACC Challenge Matchups Announced

Just not that many good ACC teams anymore. Florida getting Duke makes sense. You know they're going to get UNC and Kentucky together if they can. Matching us up with Syracuse though is dumb. Probably should have been Louisville for us, even though we played them last year.

Oh yeah. Forgot that. Then we were already sort of behind the 8 ball on this challenge. We weren't going to get Duke or UNC most likely. No other matchup besides Louisville sounds exciting.

Clemson…another Barnes’ former team that has had recent success. Even though they haven’t been good lately, I’ve always thought VTech was a natural matchup too.

I think they are going for ratings obviously. One of the businesses my company deals with is sports related spots, and you might be surprised to learn that Arkansas is at a premium right now. They had the highest viewed first round game of all time for the NCAAA tournament this past year, and they also had the highest rated regular season game this past year. It is the Calipari effect.

Not sure why an average coach like Calipari would drive ratings much but to each their own.

It was actually the Illinois game on Thanksgiving. 2nd highest rated college basketball game since 2008. It may be topped by Arkansas-Duke on Thanksgiving this year though.

Muss had Arkansas as one of the top social media followings in CBB but Calipari is definitely an even more polarizing figure which has multiplied that and then some.

AND the fact Univ of Arkansas is the ONLY gig in town (so to speak)...not one competitive program for viewership or dollars in their state, collegiately or professionally. THAT IS A HUGE ADVANTAGE.
