Seats and plans for first game in Nashville?

Speaking of parking and Lot A and if they do it like the Titans games, to get to Lot A you will be directed around to I-40 west, then to I 65 north (the old I-265), then east on I-24. This will back up. On maybe a normal Saturday or Sunday that trip from Franklin might be 20 minutes but on game day that wait could be 1-1.5 hrs depending on when you left for the game.

After the MCB and leaving LotA, we got right on the interstate and headed towards Murfreesboro, we were back at our hotel before we knew it.

that's leaving and MCB.

Leaving the game is always easy - people leave a various times. There is a set time for the game to start so it causes problems.

MCB is a little different than a UT home game

We will be arriving late Friday night. Seats are Section 125. We decided to stay at Best Western Fair Winds Inn. A little outside of the city but we plan on showing up early. Parking in Lot B. Any idea when the lots open up for folks with a parking pass?

Good info GH. I'm in Lot A and do plan to get there at least 4-6 hours before kickoff for tailgating...probably more if it's a night game. I don't get to many Titans games and have never parked in Lot A. Any idea how early the traffic redirect you mentioned begins or could it be an all game day thing?

VollyGirl, check out I-40 east of Nashville, anything from the Airport exit (15 minutes from the stadium and downtown) out to the Mt Juliet (20-25 minutes) or Lebanon (25-30 minutes) exits. All three of those are nice areas, the Airport least nice but still okay, the other two very nice.

I live in Lebanon and can get downtown in less than 30 minutes, barring traffic backups, so can attest that it's not too far.

Go Vols!

At the Donelson/Airport Exit there are some really nice ones and they're not ridiculously priced..Also lots of fast food joints and good sit-down restaurants all around them..Check out this area...Just a short drive into the stadium via the interstate....

I'll be parking at a local brewery at noon, drinking for three hours, and then walking over. Brilliant.

I stayed at Knights Inn once.

It's kind of a crazy story actually.

So there I was snorting meth, and just minding my own business when I hear a knock at the door. I think it may be those hookers up the street from earlier. Anyways, I go and open the door. It was the police! I quickly slammed my door and pulled out my ak. Bullets went flying.

Luckily I didn't kill anyone. I was released after a few years in the pen.

That being said, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at Knights Inn for the game. I think its a great hotel.

Not a true meth-head imo. Every good meth-head knows you don't "pull out" your AK. They don't come with holsters. You unsling them or pick them up, that's it. Therefore, fake meth-head! :)

Is the Knights inn seriously that bad? Does anyone here actually have a real experience there? We booked 6 rooms there in the event some of our friends needed a room. Glad we did rooms are sky high now. It is like half mile to the stadium. I'm not worried about any kind of "thugs" or someone talking crap. Is there actual gang activity there? Only reason I ask is there are several girls coming with us. I'm concerned about their safety. I can't tell you
how many people I have heard say " ohhhh
you better stay out of this area" then I go there for whatever reason and it's nothing. I don't really want what you've heard about the Knights inn. If it's not a personal experience its irrelevant to me

You will be fine there. Might be some shady people around but I wouldn't worry about anything. Known for prostitution, not gunfights. Might be a few drug dealers too. Nothing a grown ass man should be concerned about.

Knights Inn is NOT close to TSU. While I grew up in East Tn, have lived in Davidson Co. over 4 decades. If your primary purpose is getting a cheap room in an industrial area close to LP field, then good luck. At least you are not staying at Stadium Inn!

100% agree

THIS. I just think that minding our own business and not getting into others business and we will be fine.

I normally stay in the nicer/nicest hotels but due to me having to pay for 6 rooms this time we chose the Knights Inn. I will revive this thread after my stay. If I don't see a drug dealer, or any crack ho's I'll go through this thread and find each person who told me how bad at was and make sure everyone knows your opinion lacks and substance. If you're right I'll apologize and say you were right. I just know how people are and make a big deal about places they have either never been or heard from a buddy's friends sisters cousin. I shall see for myself. The 3.9 Google review does make me feel better. There some of the best hotels I've stayed at across the U.S that have a similar rating. You can't make everyone happy.

CBVol, I have read through this entire thread. It was good for some laughs. I have lived in Nashville area for most of my life, Nashville itself for 30+ years. Being in sales I have made calls on every town around Nashville. So I know the exits and the areas around them. As for your hotel choice that is your perogative. The hotel you are staying at is in a rough area. I have made sales calls there during the day. Would I personally go there at night, no. Would I have loved ones out at night in that area of town, no way. You may not see any ho's and drug dealers but they are close by if you do not see them. I will kind of give everyone my opinion on areas around Nashville, take it for what it is worth.

I live in Cool Springs area ( I can be in downtown in 15 minutes easily for that discussion. 1/4 mile off 65 at McEwen exit though). There are tons of rooms in this area but not the cheapest of areas. The largest collection of restaurants to choose from short of downtown Nashville, good shopping, not a lot of night life like downton Nashville has though but most people partying take a cab into town and back out here if no DD. One of the safest areas in Middle TN. I-65 from Harding exit south towards Brentwood and on to Franklin is all safe. On I-24 do not stay any closer to town than the Waldron road exit. Trust me on this. I used to live in the area. Got to agree about Donelson Pike area and anything east towards MJ and Lebanon is good. I-65 north of town best areas would be north of Trinity lane. I-24 north of town Millersville, Pleasant View area is good. I-40 west of town is the trickiest. Really nice safe areas very close to rougher areas of town. West end, Broadway area is very nice, Charlote Ave is rough at times and is only 3 or 4 streets north of Broad. Also, some of the best steak houses are out in this area Jimmy Kelly's, Ruth Chris and several others. All of downtown around Broad and 2nd/4th Ave area is pretty safe and good eats, for a good steak in this area The Palm is down there. Best place to eat on 2nd Ave in my opinion is The Spaghetti Factory, not expensive, great food, you will be full and the Spumoni ice cream is great.

I want all my VN brothers and sisters to come in and have a great time at the game and while you are here visiting the area. The things I mentioned above are just my opinions and I am not trying to debate anyone here on the pro's and con's of certain areas around Nash. There are areas that are safe and nice even in the areas I did not recomend staying in, but I was trying to give broad areas here not a block by city block breakdown. CBVol just be safe my friend and enjoy yourself.

Also, my seats for the game are in the 45-50 yard line area, row 4 IIRC. Only around $84.00 for the seat price discussion in here. Excited and ready for this season to start. GBO.
