Looking at the season expectations, the Vols are about where most "experts" thought they would be. Keep recruiting linemen and keep supporting our coaches. Can anyone say it didnt turn out in the range of expected results? i.e. bottom of the SEC. The only unusual thing was beating two ranked opponents. GBO

The blowout losses are the biggest concern. 5-7 is where most talking heads had it no matter how it got there. They'll be close if not dead on again next year. We'll have people in here talking 10 wins before the season starts and the talking head don't know what they're talking about.

At the beginning of the season, I saw 3 sure wins (which we won), 3 sure losses (We were 1-2) and 6 games that would define our season. Other than WVU being better than expected and Auburn being worse than expected, the schedule set out almost exactly like I thought it would. In those 6 games, we were 1-5 and we were blown out/looked like crap in 4 of them...

Perhaps the diagnosis is as Kyle Phillips said and we have some scholaship athletes that need to be asked to leave, pull scholarships, and purge the team of bad influences of all kinds. Either way, BVS continues to wreak havoc on the fan base. Like "Boston" sang..."Dont look Back." GBO

I think the informed consensus here is, we aren't really surprised at the final record, but disappointed in how we got to it. Two SEC wins were offset by some abysmal performances that should never have happened.
Agreed. Those 2 wins we "stole" could have had us at 6-6 if we handled our biz at VU

"They remember what you do in November" was one of Phillip Fulmer's favorite quotes. And we did not do well. The word that coaches used the most, and they would know, is "inconsistent" or "we need to be more consistent". I agree. Line and QB play were a crap shoot. Receivers caught a few and dropped few. Kickers hit a few and shanked a few. Everybody showed up for Auburn and Kentucky and never got out of the locker room for Mizzou, Vandy, West Virginia, South Carolina, and Florida. I'll give them losses against UGA and Bama. Given that Vandy is a team with confidence, better players, better coaching, and "consistency" they deserved the bowl and we did not. I would add..."play with consistency" as the missing Maxim. You have to play every play like it is your last. We are playing like we are on social media. Who cares? The players who are giving it all need to identify and coaches "delete" those who are not. Negavols in the locker room is a bad thing. Ditto players who are not going to lay it on the line. GBO! I hope CHP pulls a few Reggie Whites, Chad Clifton/Scott Wells, and a Peyton Manning out of his hat during recruiting season.

Why were these players still being sent onto the field of play if they were so obviously (to you and KP) quitting? Did the coaching staff just not notice?

Why did the coaching staff have to start 3 true freshman in the secondary? Because the guys ahead of them werent good enough. Why was Smith playing tackle and not his best position guard? Because we didnt have anyone good enough to play LT. You cannot start a team full of FR and Sos. I know that you can on Madden and in fantasy land but in the real world its different.
