Season Ticket Holders.. what's your temperature?

Renewed and will every year as long as I’m here. Games are more than wins or losses for us. We use them 6-7 times a year for weekend family and friends reunions and enjoy every minute of it. The common bond of UT is what we are all about. The games are just a bonus, sometimes good, sometimes bad but the fellowship surrounding the entire weekend can’t be replaced in our lives with anything else and we love it.

I’ve had my Y9 Row 1 seats 12 yrs now.
I’ve been debating not renewing.
It’s hard driving all that way knowing for a fact Tennessee is gonna lose and not even be close. I truly wish I could bring my daughters to a game and them truly experience what Neyland use to be like when I was a kid growing up in Dandridge. That’s what got me hooked on the Vols. Their best experience is beating a crappy SC team 2 yrs ago in Neyland
Hopefully we get this coaching search right,

I was from '10-'17. It wasn't worth it anymore. I still have attended games every year since I stopped (except 2020). I'll consider getting them again depending on the hire.

3 of those years I was in Alaska and sold them to a poster here.

I gave up my season tickets going into Jones’ final season. I will get them again when the product on the field justifies traveling from DFW to Knoxville 8 times a year.

Edit: I still make it to 1-2 games a year (except for 2020), but not as a season ticket holder. My daughter will be a freshman at UT this fall, so I know I will make a number of games over the next few years.

We sit in XX3 and just became season ticket holders a few years ago. It has been a great family getaway weekend and priceless father/son & daughter weekends while they are still young. Had it been just for the product on the field, I would have some things to think about but my kids would never let me hear the end of it if we didn't renew.

I have 2 grandfathered tickets so I may keep them. I gave a donation to get 2 more. I am giving those up, saves me from having to make donation. The other thing that factors in for me is paying players. If the NCAA starts paying players or letting them make money I’m out for sure.

The return of Phil and his Pruitt hire pushed me out. The right person and I'm liable to come back. Very happy that Phil was dismissed. Took bringing the program to its lowest low but that wasn't unexpected when he was hired.

This is the RIGHT reason to renew. I get it. For me, a lot of the folks I tailgate with have bailed out. I couldn't get my sons to go this year with me as well. It's 4 hours in the car one way, and I ended up one game by myself. Yes, the social aspect is huge and if you have that, you have your priorities in the right place. Like someone said "Good coaches don't want to come here". None of my dear friends I have happy hour with occasionally in Alabama could be talked into a road trip to see the VOLS. Covid really hammered the tailgating, so hopefully that'll get back to normal.

I’m 49 and gave mine up a while back. It’s so u comfortable as there isn’t any room and I always have someone’s knee in my back. Plus trying to get to and from the concessions and restroom. Then you add in the fights from a bunch of drunks and it’s just not worth it. Maybe it’s my age. Lol

I have no intentions of giving up my season tickets. I spent 21 years in the U.S. Army, and as such, I did not get to go to many games. When you do not have the option of attending or even viewing the game (especially when stationed overseas), you appreciate the opportunity to be in Neyland and soaking up the atmosphere. Is the product the best right now; no, it is not. But I will support my team through the highs and lows, as I have experienced firsthand not being able to see the the 'T' formed on the field for many years at a stretch. Also, these young men do their best on the field, and I owe it to them to bring my best (e.g. attendance and loud support) on football Saturdays.

If I were a player and you were selling your Bama and Florida tickets for money I would be a loafer too. I have no respect for fans that sold out Neyland to visiting fans. Total disloyalty.
This is the classic "which came first, chicken or the egg". Coaches not being able to field a team that is competitive can expect home fans to not participate. Case in point: Vandy - they get more visitors than home in their stadium. My question, where were you? At home in front of the TV, or spending your $$$ on the team. If in front of the TV.. don't judge me on my hard earned money and where I put it.

I’m out. Held fantastic seats up until this past year. Opted out for COVID season.

Will not renew this year.

We have had four in Section B for over 30 years and I was not going to renew if we kept JP. I would probably renew if we hired a great coach but it doesn’t look likely now. It’s not much fun spending a lot of time and money watching the team you love always getting their brains beat in. I am also alienated by new tiered parking program. Accumulated a lot of points during my 35 years as a season ticket holder but feel the AD does not value our previous donations and loyalty and find I am in a worse parking lot every year.

Gave up the season tickets during the Dooley era.

Moved further away from Knoxville and it is just easier and cheaper to buy single game tickets than pay for blowouts over pushover teams or blowout losses to better teams.

Had some fun times during the Butch era.

Pruitt era was miserable the entire time. Even with the wins the stadium felt lifeless.

I just hope they do not hire a coach of Eastern European ancestry. Nothing against those people it just makes it harder to get the spelling correct when I google their name to find out who in the heck the coach is.

Oh, the classic "I'm more fan than you are" post

I’ve finally gotten to a place where I can be a season ticket holder, and this hire will determine whether I decide to or not. UT is in a tough spot and needs financial support to get back to greatness. However, I’m not giving my money to a place who doesn’t show good faith actions that they actually care about getting back to greatness. The AD hire was a good step in the right direction. Now get a great coach.

We let ours go in 2017 and decided instead to allocate the money to our family vacation fund. I wish I could say that the product on the field made me regret that decision... Unfortunately, there has been little to regret.
