I’ll go 24-7, though maybe a tad optimistic.

Losses to Houston, @ Arky, @ UF, @ UK, @ Miss State, @ Vandy and then 1 loss to the group of the final Vegas game, @ Cuse, Illinois, or a random home letdown game in conference (I fear this will be UK, but I hope not).
Louisville may be the best of the bunch. Top 5-10 in most preseason polls.

Houston is ranked higher in every poll I’ve seen and won’t be at home like the Louisville game
I was referring to the home games/those that most people can attend. The poster didn’t mention them as a formidable threat.

I get some sort of feeling we will be somewhere between the 2020 team (Springer/Keon) and 2021 team with Chandler.

Won’t give an overall record, but I think 3-5 seed in the tourney. Will depend on how Abram and Burg play, imo. We have Gill, Ament, Okpara and Carey…everyone else is kinda TBD.

Hopefully Cade and JP take the next step as well.

Eh, close enough

This captures the deep depression I felt when we had and then lost Rice. Going shopping at Costco to pick up Burg and Abrams set the ceiling.
Curious on your thoughts…

If Carey isn’t on this team how does it change our win total? I say we probably don’t beat Houston, but we win 3-4 other games we lost, so plus 2-3 in the win column.

Torvik nailed it, honestly. Finished regular season at 21-10 (3rd opponent in Vegas was loss to KU), and hit the SEC record on the head.
Yup…what’s pretty wild is that if you look in years past our KP rating would be Top 5-10 most every single year, the top of the sport has continued getting better and better and more efficient, which is maybe an offseason discussion to have, but some things need to change.

Yeah, Carey is a bit of a distortion field. His point blank misses amp up his O rebound stats, but there’s no denying he makes the lane uncomfortable for others. I think your gut is right that a no Carey solution might be plus 2 wins. I would’ve argued for fewer Okpara minutes early on, but would’ve been proven wrong. He’s proven to be so valuable in so many ways. This team with a healthy Estrella and scoring guard like Rice is a FF team. With what we have I can see an early exit all the way through Sweet 16 plus depending on how well we play. I can see us winning or losing against our whole side of the bracket until Michigan.

Anything can happen over the next few weeks, I like the draw and am optimistic. As mentioned, the team is one shooter (Rice would've been perfect) and a healthy Estrella from being FF. No matter what happens over the next few weeks, I like how the team is set up to come back:

As many have said, ideally we would keep the following six (eight) players:

Estrella
Phillips
Brown
Boswell
Evans
Henderson
-
Duncan
Paull

With our three signees being projects, if TN is serious about being an elite contender, they have to bank on continued development of the returners and an infusion of at least three studs/willing shooters around them.

Walk-on

If Boswell and Evans can buy into being heavily used rotation pieces off the bench and Cade develops any offensive game whatsoever, this is a great team. All the best teams use 8-9 guys, I can see the clear path for that here. Just spend the money and bring in the studs!

Hey guys I totally forgot to post this but found this in my notes:

"I predict we'll go 22-11, 11-7 in the SEC and Tied for 4th, and we'll go 1-1 in the SECT beating Auburn but losing to Vanderbilt, and we'll get a 6th Seed in the Midwest playing TBD....I haven't decided if it's Miami (OH) or SMU yet....."

Totally real, trust me bro.

I wonder what Cade taking all of Carey's minutes this season would have looked like. Like you said Carey huge liability in a lot of games and Cade would have been a plus defender with very limited offense.

I think Evans has the potential to have a huge role next year. The Vanderbilt game where he had to fill in for Nate showed what he could be capable of producing consistently with a little more development.
