Disclaimer-Oklahoma tailgate
Burgers, Beer Brats, Chili Lime Chicken Kebabs, Pimento Cheese w/ Hawaiian buns or crackers, deviled eggs, potato salad, guacamole and salsa, hummus with crackers and veggies, and Chocolate Toffee Trifle. Then got Shiner on tap and a full bar, I'me counting down the days!!
I my opinion, being a life long local, Broadway is extremely touristy. Make yourself comfortable around the locals. Try Pharmacy Burger on McFerrin Avenue or some of the bar scenes in East Nashville or Mid Town area. Just google those areas for hangout spots. Both very convenient to Downtown. Of course, walking from your hotel to Broadway may be most convenient and easier for you. But, very touristy.........maybe you're after that kind of atmosphere though
We are staying downtown Friday & Saturday, I was told by my cousins wife to go to Broadway and stay away from Printers Alley, she said it was NASTY... I LOL
Unfortunately I have to watch from here in AZ.
I'll be doing wings and beer for this game!
I make some killer wings in my cast iron skillet! Ohhhh Yeahhhh!
Next year, I'll be back in good ol Tennessee! I plan on getting season tickets so Ill be tailgating there at Neyland!
Woooooo
Man I cant wait to get back home to good ol' Rocky Top!
Broadway area is very touristy but that is not all bad. I think the Printers Alley reference is dated.
If you want to get a little more local, try 12th Ave South area (west side of river) and East Nashville (east side of river). Both of these areas will have tourist but are a little more local.
Enjoy your visit and Go Vols!
Onion bombs sound interesting Got a recipe.
I've changed it up a bit but here's the inspiration:
Team Traeger | Traeger's BBQ Meatball Onion Bombs
For the "meatball" I do the following:
1 tbs olive oil
1 yellow onion
1 bell pepper
1 tsp garlic
1.5 cups breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
3 tsp worcestershire
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1.5 lbs ground beef
.5 lbs ground pork
.5 lbs ground lamb
If your tailgate runs on into the post-game, add some Duck Fart cordials to the drinks menu, in preparation for the Oklahoma game!
How To Make a Duck Fart
Ingredients
Steps
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) Kahlua or almond liqueur
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) Bailey's Irish Cream
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) Jack Daniels whiskey
- Pour the Kahlua into a shot glass.
- Slowly and carefully pour the Bailey's Irish Cream along the side of the shot glass, so that it creates a distinct layer on top of the Kahlua.
- Using the same method, add the Jack as the final layer on the top.

2 chipotle chilies in adobo sauce, minced, or to taste
2 tablespoons adobo sauce from chipotle peppers

1 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce[/QUOTE
Man those look great on the traeger site. Also liked your sauce recipe. Thanks. I will put some of them on my TN game day smoker opening game
