Search, I doubt.

When all is said and done, Ansley will bolt for another job and Steele will be a DC until he retires on his own terms. Or we have CO-DCs with Ansley and Steele.

HC: Napier, Chadwell, Clark, Monken or Fickell. Longshot: Matt Campbell.

If you'd like to blow some dough on the betting sites: Jon Gruden is 50-1 odds.

Other Vegas odds: 8-5 Mike Gundy gets a raise out of latest Tennessee Coaching search. lol

Steele will be the guy for minimum of entire 2021 season. If he has a decent record 5-6 wins they will name him official head coach....

It seems to me that SOMEBODY (not Fulmer) has some ducks in a row. Why would Steele come unless he has some idea where he stands. Be it the new head coach or someone who else to be HC is in the fold and both he and Steele are signed off on the setup, or he is just taking his chances, which I don't think he is dumb enough to do. Because he should know he would be able to get a GOOD job somewhere else.

Well, him being here at 450 while still getting 2 mil from AU for 2 years won't hurt him. He can afford to buy his way out for another big gig if we don't up him and he may have a sweet agreement to let him out. He might be using his time here to shop around for another DC stint. Not a lot of risk on his part and gets to play the helping my alma mater card.

Ansley's been looking around. Maybe the $450,000 is a placeholder until DC opens up... or we pay him $450,000 for 2 years and $1.5 - $2 million for the last two years kind of like Nicky did to us with lyle.

Likely. It’s very weird how they brought him in, though. Too many questions. Could be that they already have a HC locked up and Steele and other coaches know him and everything is set up, just need a AD to stamp it.
Now that is some fan board speculation!

That is his coaching record at Baylor. Impressive, isn’t it?
That translates to about 0-fer in the SEC.
But really who us fans want or don't want does not matter in the least.
The University puts out a product, we can buy it or not.
Just like any business, the bottom line is their focus. We have suffered almost two decades, they look at how much money they have made.
Until I see evidence, I will not believe UT is committed to winning.

Ok - you tell me a secret and I will tell you a secret. The secret I would like for you to share is what makes you think Anderson wanted Pruitt ? I know Pruitt is from Alabama, and Anderson is from Alabama - what's the connection there ?

The last coaching search came down to Pruitt and Steele. Anderson wanted Pruitt, Anderson got Fulmer in the AD and Fulmer wasn’t going to go against his biggest supporter. All in all we’re ***t.

Now Haslam’s are back in it and are going to direct this episode of how to kill tradition issue 4. We won’t do the sure thing and hire good coaches that want the job.

Well clearly we have had a recent history of XXXXX ing this up and these are the same parties that hand picked Derek Dooley. I am not sure if Charlie works in conjuntion with the others or how that all plays out. Someone has indicated that Peyton might be involved this go around.

Here's my take - these are all smart business men, including Randy Boyd. Collectively, and in some cases individually, they could fund any coach that they wanted to bring in - if they decided to lend that kind of financial support. The problem with these guys is not that they are not smart, and don't make great business decisions - it is that they are all well connected and all have close friends who know someone ( who would be just perfect to be the next coach. ) and they have big egos. Somebody's relative in Alabama was great friends with Vince Dooley. Someone that liked Schiano ( sp ) when he interviewed for a job with the Browns thought he would be a great fit.

Eventually, one would hope, these guys will get it right. Maybe this will be the time.

From what I have read, Manning is going to be a part of the HC search. If this is true, I would like to think they would look at candidates with some offensive prowess because Defensive minded HC, as of late, have been hot garbage. Muschump, Strong, Mason, Bielema, etc. What thinks Steele would be any different?

Steele came in behind Pruitt, Anderson wanted Pruitt and the boosters get what they want. I don’t see us doing anything in 2021 except losing a bunch of games. Steele is our Head Football Coach.
Recruits and current players will just love the idea of spending one of their years of eligibility on a mulligan....especially after the exciting year we just had!

You do realize that you're talking about the UT admin. don't you? After 15 years of dysfunction suddenly they're brilliant ? Leave that stuff alone man .

Need a Cliff Kingsbury type offensive coach up in here or Sean Mcvey type.

So we wanted this CF by firing JP and now we are complaining about what the near future looks like? Typical VN!
