Paying 120 K for someone to scan LinkedIn and grab a coach from Dollar General if we are lucky.

How the hell do they put their faith in the firm that brought in Cuonzo and Dooley?

- Serrano was widely regarded as a fantastic hire. The guy had been to the CWS.

- the search firm doesn't make the decisions, they do homework and serve as an intermediary so things like pics of Dave Hart sitting on Gundy's porch and getting a public turndown don't happen..

They work for and at the request of TN. TN tells them what they want and the firm does it. Blame TN leadership for terrible decisions.

Given the situation, I don't think we are going get to be that picky. Sanctions looming and most of our best players are now in the transfer portal. Who do you think were going to convince that this is the place they need to be?

This is what I was afraid of all along. No plan, just getting candidates now long search for coach and AD. Just aggravating. Why could they not have had a plan in place and had candidates 1a, b and c. This really isn’t difficult. Just purely bad leadership. We just wasted the 2021 and 2022 seasons now with this stupidity. They should have had someone at the ready like Texas...just pure stupidity.

Actually this is the perfect time to be picky, because we can sign a guy for a 7 year deal. First 2 might not matter any way. By the time were bowl eligible we will already have two recruiting classes deep going on three. You hire the right coach players will come regardless. We hire bargain basement we will be setback 6 more years.

Y’all know this is just a CYA in case the university is sued over racial or prejudice hiring practices right? The University already had their top 2 or 3 candidates. It’s the world we live in sadly now.

Not that what anyone here cares what an outsider has to say but I get the feeling that this is going to end up working out for y’all.

Yes...I know it took a few years and Mike Shula but still Price had to be rock bottom.

Actually, it's been pretty darned hard. We've now screwed the pooch 5 times counting the firing of Fulmer. But I agree, the search firm is a waste of money. It only provides cover for those doing the hiring.

Parker Executive Search is most certainty not the best search firm in the world let alone Atlanta. Most of their people are UGA grads which is a very limited education based network (something critical for that business). The main job is to screen/research candidates, they have done a terrible job as most of the coaches we have hired with them should have never passed the introduction phone call.
