I would say...

Offensively:
1. LSU
2. Tennessee
3. Ole Miss
4. Bama
5. Georgia
6. TAMU
7. Arkansas
8. Florida
9. Auburn
10. Kentucky
11. Miss St
12. South Carolina
13. Vandy
14. Mizzou

Defensively:
1. Bama
2. Tennessee
3. LSU
4. Florida
5. Mizzou
6. Georgia
7. Auburn
8. Ole Miss
9. Miss St
10. Vandy
11. Arkansas
12. TAMU
13. SCAR
14. Kentucky

Granted, this is all pre-season speculation. LSU at the top of the offense depends on how Harris plays. Us at number two on the defense depends on how well we've adjusted to Shoop. ETC.

I would put Ole Miss 1st offensively,LSU 2nd and UT 3rd. Ole Miss has the best QB in the SEC while LSU has the best RB. Harris will be the x factor for LSU. If he has improved his passing then LSU will be SEC West and NC contenders. Ole miss has a really good QB but lack much of a run game. While our Vols have a really good rushing attack, a QB who can kill defense's with his legs but just like Harris at LSU the pass game has to improve for Dobb's and he has to learn how to hold on to the ball. Think he had 11 or 12 fumbles but was very fortunate to not lose the majority of them. I am picking TN vs LSU in the SEC Championship Game with the winner potentially having a shot at the playoffs. I agree with you defensivel. If Janzek was still here I would say no chance in hell but getting one of the better DC's in college football will have us playing at an elite level on defense.

As the season goes along it will become very clear.

Best O is n K town.

Best D is in K town.

We have all the pieces now on both sides of the ball.

The main key will be staying healthy and not losing any of those key pieces.

1 WIN at a time, week by week as our Vols earn a Championship...VFL...GBO!!!

"Todd Kelly Jr. and Evan Berry will have to make the leap from reserves to starters at safety, which tests the depth behind them in the secondary. That, and finding another impact pass rusher from the defensive line, are really the only potential problem areas for the Volunteers."...SDS

Heh heh. Kongbo and others disagree.

The top of the West is wide open this year. Bama, Ole Miss, and LSU all have about the same chance of winning it. For the 1st time I think this balances out our west opponent with UGA and UF.
i tend to agree, though i'd put LSU and Bama as the clear favorites.

i'm just not sold that Ole Miss is going to have another big year. they could, solid qb, defense won't suck, but they are replacing some elite talent that got drafted. and they play in the west. they could be pretty damn good and still lose 4 games.

the wild cards to me are aTm and Auburn. aTm got a gift with Trevor Knight coming as the QB, and they have talent everywhere. and then Auburn....just not sure what to expect them...i do think they'll be better, but like Ole Miss, just being "better" may not yield that much better a result. ARK and MSU i think take a step back....feel more confident about that with MSU than ARK...
