Why? Seriously, why is it a certainty he will "never" be hired here?

The point the article is making is that the coach of a team that has underachieved in a season, and has set up a next season where he will be undoubtedly coaching for his job, goes from "hot seat next year" to "fired now" with a loss to a team as bad as Vanderbilt.

He has underachieved for more than this season. Why must we delay the inevitable? Why not go ahead and do the inevitable now? 2022 is an amazing recruiting class in state. Why take ourselves out of that possibility by allowing a failed coach to fully, completely, and catastrophically fail.

That makes no sense to me.

Dear lord folks. Vandy is having to dress out band members, women’s soccer players and and members of the debate team just to have enough players and half of them will play on both sides of the ball! I know some want Vandy to win but it will be 42-0 at half. Pruitt keeps his job for another year.

Does anyone get the feeling a bunch of buzzards are cleaning the money carcass of a once proud football program? The problems UT is faces are much bigger than just the football program, which is a symptom of the illness.

I used to get irritated with people that wanted to lose for any reason. My mindset was that you ALWAYS wanted your team to win no matter what. And then this season happened and my thoughts have changed. I might get a henna anchor temporary tattoo to put on my forehead for this game. Anchor down b&tches. We need to get our program back on track and this stubborn idiot is not the one that’s going to do it.

If beating that Vandy team has any impact on whether or not a coach at UT keeps job with a 3-7 record at the end of his third season, then we should shutter Neyland and put all of our money towards basketball.

We're not the only ones. His agent was begging South Carolina to interview him and they didn't even call. Just like when he was trying to get on OC job at the power 5 level two years ago, his stock among ADs and school administrators is significantly lower than it is with fans. He thought he'd be a commodity as a coordinator at the P5 level and didn't even get an interview before Liberty stepped in and offered him the head coaching gig.

I get the reality of it but my point stands.

Now, I'd rather go after Campbell but refusing to even consider a quality coach that got into some trouble and has done his time is asinine.
