SDS on Hurd's Departure

Dang.....

Coming into 2016, Hurd was mentioned in the same breath as LSU’s Leonard Fournette and Georgia’s Nick Chubb — this was supposed to be the Year of the Running Back, after all. The truth is he’s nowhere near the same level of natural talent. Fournette and Chubb have had their struggles, too. Neither quit, though.

You learn more about a young man’s character in defeat than you do in victory. We learned that Hurd is a quitter.

He doesn’t want to win. He wants to be the focal point of the offense so he can ball out every Saturday. Hurd was surely the stud from Pop Warner through high school, so it’s probably beneath him to just be a cog in the wheel.

Cliché machines like Jones always say that no one player is bigger than the team. He should be happy to help Hurd pack his bags.

Another "millennials are lazy" article. The world will never have enough of these. Was Spurrier a "lazy millennial" when he did what he thought was best for him/ his program this time last season?

Don't blame Jalen. Blame DeBord for misusing him and outright lying to him.

No definitive proof Jalen was lied to yet it doesn't stop people from furthering a rumor with no facts to support their I hate Debord and Butch mentality . unbelievable

Misusing him??
2014 - 899 4.7 per
2015 - 1285 4.6 per
2016 - 451 3.7 per

Please tell me what drastic change took place in the offense?

And what factual knowledge do you have that anyone lied to him?

This is what gets me. He's in the same damn offensive system that he's been in since he got here. Granted, he's taken a beating but his numbers from freshman and sophomore years are good. I guess the system failed him this year.

We know what you're trying to do. However reality won't allow it to happen.

Everybody just stop with the Hurd was misused thing. Kids coming out of high school do not get to demand a college program change anything. That whole premise line is faulty on so many levels, its' beneath rational adults to discuss. I get that it furthers the "hate CBJ/staff" mindset and agenda some have, but when it comes to this player, he lost any credibility he had when he demanded as a RB the offense be changed and oh by the way now I don't really want to be a RB back any longer. C'mon folks quit supporting that level of foolishness.
