1. Crompton will be the starter. That says more about Nick Stephens than it does #8.
2. Though I'd like to see more distance on kickoffs, the placekickers look solid.
3. The backs really need to work on ball security.
4. Tennessee will win the SEC in 2011.
5. This will turn out to be one of the two or three best classes of defensive freshmen Tennessee has ever recruited.
6. The pass protection is still mediocre to awful.
7. Teague will be an all SEC receiver before he's done at UT.
8. For all the examples of idiocy involving the offense last season, the fact Josh Briscoe played ahead of Brandon Warren is in a class by itself.
9. This is the best group of runners Tennessee has had in a decade.
10. This is still a 7 or 8 win team.

I assume Hat your saying that Nick Stephens lost the job more than Crompton.

Odd. Others at the scrimmage reported Crompton looked pretty solid today outside of the INT and Stephens looked pretty terrible. Guess it depends on who you ask.

Hat, are you saying that the overall team will be so good, that we will overcome the shortcomings at QB for the 2011 season?

I don't think there will be any shortcomings at quarterback in 2011.

Hat,

I agree about the quality of our backfield and I understand O-line philosophy and coaching has changed, but it seems there were a number of good runs today. How would you grade our rush defense?

It's not great. You kind of have to expect that, given the inexperience and lack of depth at tackle.

Well.... we have to hope the running games is strong, defense is stout and be solid in kicking game and special teams. How is special teams looking? Have you noticed them tackling any better than in the past. Seemed like all they wanted to do under chavis is blow someone up instead of wrapping up.

Is Crompton still throwing the ball off of his back foot? I am so not looking forward to the QB situation this year. I say he throws at least one interception per game.

I will take 7-8 wins this year and go to a bowl. Considering what CLK had to work with and compared to what we did last year that would be a solid first year for him and the staff. However I still say that they will win one of the 2 vs Ole Miss or UGA.
