Screwed by Ole Miss Ticket Office

I got the following email today from the Ole Miss Ticket Office regarding my online purchase on June 7, 2009 for 2 sideline seats to the November 14 UT vs Ole Miss game in Oxford. My CC was billed in June, and I was given a confirmation number.

To Whom It May Concern:

Due to the high demand for season tickets, tickets for the Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU vs. Ole Miss games are unfortunately sold out. The Ticket Office will not be able to fill your order. We will be refunding you for the total amount of your order including all convenience fees. We apologize for this inconvenience. The method of payment used at the time of ordering will be reimbursed immediately. Again, we apologize for this inconvenience.

I really feel like I got screwed on this one as my money is not good enough for Ole Miss. Has anyone else heard or seen anything like this? I really feel like I got screwed on this deal.

They just scare that the vols going to destory them in their home game. Plus they don't want Tenn. fan in the stadium to see it.:lolabove:

You should send them a bill for interest along with the reimbursement. Essentially, you gave them a 2 month loan interest free.

I guess the term "All ticket sales are final" doesn't really apply to the seller in this case.

The OM website reports that season football tickets are sold out. I do not know exactly how ticket distribution works there but my guess is that if you had acted early you could buy a season ticket without a donation for a relatively low price. This happens all the time with Vandy season tickets. It's cheaper for a scalper to buy a block of season tickets than to order single game tickets for the SEC teams that travel to Nashville in big numbers. You can see the effect of this by checking online ticket brokers who will ordinarily have tickets to Vandy's nonconference games for as low as a few dollars.

There will be plenty of tickets available for that game, below face.

I hope you're right. We've already reserved a couple of cabins for that weekend. But we've had a lot of trouble getting tickets so far, and two of the people coming with me are Ole Miss alums. One worked for Orgeron while he was coaching there.

Ive heard of not selling to fans of other teams but not taking tickets that have been bought and giving them to someone else. That is ridiculous.

happens every year at Tennessee. Fans pay and request road tickets for gamres every year and end up getting refunds because the allotment sells out prior to getting to them on donor list. Happens all the time..

Hey, the same thing happened to me. I had already paid for the tickets with my credit card. I guess contract law doesn't apply in the State of Mississippi.

You would think that if they accepted your money and you had a conformation number they couldnt sell the tickets to someone else. To me that is selling your property that has been bought and paid for.

My Ole Miss buddy who got us tickets just called and said that he got the email too. We lost our tickets and already had flights booked so we will lose another $100 bucks or so for the cancellation on those. We may still go and see if we can get tickets outside the stadium. He is Ole Miss alum and is not happy. He says he is going to pull against them every game leading up to that one so that tickets are easy to come by on game day.

Y'all are welcome to come and enjoy the Grove, lots of people just stay there during the game anyway. If it turns out to be an early 11:30 kickoff you might get tickets below face, everybody here hates those. But if it's a night game the price will be high.

After getting the email from the Ole Miss ticket office, I ordered 4 tickets thru Stub Hub for about double the amount I was going to pay thru the ticket office. I wasn't happy but had already made promises to family members, some of whom are Ole Miss grads, to get tickets.

There are thousands of tickets available......but at a price now. If UT and the Rebs have a dissappointing season, tickets will be cheap by game time. If both teams are rolling by mid November tickets will sell for a premium.
