5-3 decision...I think they got it right here...this was an attempt to limit access to abortions, not to provide education.

Yes, the court absolutely got it right. Those laws were never about women's health. They were shenanigans designed for Republicans to get their way.

Reading thru the opinion, while I don't necessarily agree with the case against requiring admitting privileges for abortionists, I can at least understand the position.

However, the case against regulating clinics like ambulatory surgical centers is pretty tortured logic. It seems like it comes down to "Why should abortion clinics not receive the same oversight as any other care facility? Because it's abortion, so f*** you."

It bothers me that every facet of life has government regulations piled on, but when it comes to murdering unborn children, government regulation is taboo and looked down upon.

I agree with you. But even looking at it from the other side, if abortion is supposed to be all about "women's health", then why in the world would you want less oversight? That's like saying you want cleaner restaurants, so you're going to do away with health inspector visits.

I knew a woman who was always donating her time to helping others. Boys and girls club, charities for poor African children etc. I found out from her husband that she had chosen to have 4 abortions over roughly a 5 year span. They had the resources to raise a child, she just didn't want one yet.

I bring it up because you and I see abortion as murder. A lot of women, even caring ones, just don't see it that way. We are told as a public, it's none of our business. I can't understand it either.

Why is everything you disagree with always about the republicans and how they want to f*** everyone?

SCOTUS clearly realized those regulations weren't about women health. Actually, everyone knows that.

Besides more regulations weren't needed for a procedure that has fewer complications than a tooth extraction.

Ginsberg 83
Kennedy 80
Breyer 78
Thomas 68

It is clear from the ages of the justices, that Crooked Hillary will be able to install three, and possibly four,
far left justices if she is elected in November.

No she won't without having control of the Senate.

No she won't without having control of the Senate.

With 24 Republican senate seats up, it would take a minor miracle to retain control of the senate this year, or in any election cycle.

Even without control of the senate, there are enough establishment republicans that will vote to confirm her far left nominees.

I think if Hillary wins Ginsburg and Kennedy announce retirements pretty quickly. If Trump wins they will investigate if Futurama style head-in-jar technology is viable.

Perhaps the raw number of possible complications is greater with a tooth extraction. But the number of deaths resulting from abortions is 1 in 100,000, while the number of deaths resulting from wisdom tooth extractions is 1 in 400,000. No matter what the number of possible complications, I would think death probably trumps them all.

FYI, I pulled the abortion number from Planned Parenthood's website. I didn't want to run the risk of overstating that number, so I went to the organization most likely to understate it.
