There are some on here that think Hopson is nowhere close to NBA potential.

But I think that's a fair comparison. They are both crazy Athetlic, Atrocious ball handlers with horrible basketball I.Q., poor defenders, but Great 3 point shooters. Although, Scotty is a not a "great" shooter yet, but he could become one in the NBA. But I think Scotty's ceiling in the NBA could become a J.R. Smith type of player. Anyone else agree?

In his first year out of high school, JR Smith averaged 10 points per game in the NBA.

In his first year out of high school, Scotty Hopson averaged 9 points per game in the SEC.

You tell me.

I expect Scotty to be better this season, but in no way has he ever shown anything comparable to JR Smith in terms of athleticism.

If you can't handle the ball you won't play in the NBA. Hopson has "hops" and is a streaky shooter, but until he learns to handle the ball properly he won't even get drafted.
I would love to see him prove me wrong but I'm not seeing it.

Stupid post and stupid comments comparing Hopson to anyone in the NBA at this point. It would be nice if he became a proficient college player before comparing him to NBA players.
