Scott Wright ranks A. Foster 2nd best senior RB

In James Davis' defense, Spence didn't call his number many times against Bama. His opportunities to make plays were limited.

I'm surprised by the relative overall weakness of the 2008 senior running backs.

Foster hasn't been 215 in a long time. He had to slim down to get to his current weight of 225-230.

Yeah, I remember a few months ago that Fostermom said he was down to 225, and played at almost 240 last season. He should be a little faster this season.

I think the whole Clemson coaching staff was too busy wetting themselves while watching Saban prance up and down the field watching his team demoralize theirs...

230 pound backs usually aren't blazers. Unless your just a freak(jamal lewis). Foster is a complete back and he has real good field vision thats what the scouts like about him.

I can't remember who said it but I think it was Clawson who said he was like having another coach on the field because he can break down the defenses and tell him what was going on from the field. He said once scouts figure this out his stock should go up a lot more.

I liked how Bowden promised the first carry to one of the new guys who promptly fumbled it.

Pure stupidity...but that's actually tradition now for Bowden. He promises freshmen running backs that they'll get the first carry of the season if they sign with the Tigers.

James Davis, CJ Spiller, Roscoe Crosby, all got the first carry of the season during their freshmen seasons.

It's just plain stupid to give Jamie Harper his first college touch in a nationally televised game, against Alabama, when you have James Davis standing on the sideline.

Foster is an excellent reciever out of the backfield and can be split out. I think his style of running fits best with the zone blocking schemes we see almost everywhere now. He's not a hit the hole wide open runner more of a glider like you would see in Denver. Matter of fact he'd do well in Denver, but again most backs do.

Or Indy.

USF has NFL talent.

You said they didn't last season.

NO, I said other than a couple guys and I mentioned him and the other CB plus the DT. That does not compare to an entire team of talent and depth that teams in other conferences have. Maybe not all NFL talent but talented guys none the less. Wow, you have a major insecurity complex Mr. Valid Victorian Sorry mine is bigger than yours. Hope you can move past this.

Yep. He really reminds me of Edge.

Yes. For whatever reason Edge seemed a little quicker, but not much at all.

I think I get a little jaded when it comes to UT players because I see almost every play of their college careers however.

Pre-knee problems I think Edge was quite a bit faster but they are very similar now.

Yeah. Well... I mean Arian performs pretty similarly at UT, to how Edge did in the NFL. So, in that regard they are similar, but obviously James is better. If you watch some old footage of Edgerrin at Miami, he was an absolute stud. He had several games where he'd get 9 yards per touch. Remember, Edge went ahead of Ricky Williams in the draft. That's how impressive he was in college.
