Another candidate to join Al Groh's staff is University of Tennessee wide receivers coach Latrell Scott, who is expected to be at U.Va. today.
Scott, 33, starred at Mechanicsville's Lee-Davis High School, on Fork Union Military Academy's postgraduate team and at Hampton University. He spent three years on Dave Clawson's staff at the University of Richmond before moving with Clawson to Tennessee after the 2007 season.
Clawson, who was the Volunteers' offensive coordinator, recently replaced Brandon at Bowling Green. Tennessee's new coach, Lane Kiffin, has retained Scott, but the Richmond native might be interested in returning to his home state.
Scott also has been an assistant coach at FUMA, Western Carolina and Virginia Military Institute.

I wonder if him going to interview is a direct response to possibly being told by CLK his services are no longer needed?

it's possible, but at the same time the fact that the job is in his home state probably has something to do with it too.

I'm sure he is just lining up possibilities in case he's not hired here. If my boss was telling me that I had no guarantee of a job, I'd be actively looking too.

Does that mean our chances at Moses are gone too? I hope Askew keeps his commit. Scott recruited him and he is from VA. I am sure he will be swayed to check out UVA, if Scott is hired.
I really hope Scott will be retained. He seems to be a really good recruiter.

I wish he would take Drayton with him, what have these two guys done, everybody says they are great recuriters and they have not brought in to much. Besides after what our offense did last year I can not believe that he would ever talk to coaches that we on that side of the ball.

In a new article on Rivals Moses is really talking up Bama, Ohio State, and OU. Says UT is still in the mix but he is trying to get to know the new coaches. Bammers, Buckeyes, and Sooners are really in his ear.

Clawson had more to do with the offense being horrible than Scott and Drayton.

What is it that everybody loves about Scott? He can recruit but just like everone complained abou CPF, he cant coach them up. He was quoted saying, "I have so much talent, I dont know what to do with it." (Came from players)

Moses - "visiting Alabama on 1/16 and considering visits to Oklahoma and OSU after that...his coach says he is now talking to OSU daily. Has already taken an official to WVU and is also looking at UCLA."

I see 5 and no UT.

I see 5 and no UT.

I also watched an interview of him when he was in Hawaii, and he said at that point he knew of 2 visits. Ohio St and UT. Now he might have already changed his mind, but I know he did say he was going to visit UT.

Many fans assume that because a coach is black, he must be a good recruiter.

I really hope Coach Kiff cleans house completely. I'd like to see all 4 coaches that have been "retained" let go.

Let's get rid of them all and start over completely.

No need to fret my friend. Volquest had an article on Askew up today and he sounded 100% TN. I think that guy is going to be a TN legend by the time he graduates.

See that's what I don't get. I would think Moses would be the top priority for Kiffin after Brown or a QB (Brown solely because he's the top prospect in the state). Moses is a game changer and we need his services. He seems to be perfectly content letting the assistants handle him. Maybe he knows something we don't. Maybe he knows Moses won't qualify and thinks he can get him in a couple of years when the program is on the rise again.

Scott came with Clawson, and he and Clawson both are great coaches, in a bad situation, you really should do you research be fore you make wild statements!!

Once again , Clawson never even got to run his offense, so we really have know idea what it would be like, if you had your hand slapped eveytime you made a decision you to would not be happy but I would hope your work ethic would all to try to do the best job you can do.
