The word coming from a friend of mine that is a graduate assistant at UT said that Fulmer is stepping down after the end of the season. The main reason given was to spend time with his family since he is a grandfather now and the lack of support that has been given. The final straw was the statement given by AD Mike Hamilton in the KNS on Sunday where he has considered changes. He wants the best for the program and the players and is going to finish the season. Announcement to be made following the Alabama game on Saturday regardless of the outcome.

Source is reliable. Just an FYI. Hope all are happy now! Going to miss the big guy!

If Fulmer feels like he's gotten a "lack of support," he needs to look at his bank statement. Then, he can go jump off the Henley Street Bridge.

Do we have a Fulmer rumor thread with all of these merged into one? If not we probably should.

I wouldn't post it if I didn't think it was true. I was the guy that posted the other day about being tired of hearing this stuff. So take that for what its worth! Thread was titled enough is enough.

Happy? I'd be happier than the parched pilgrim in the desert that justs finds out for sure that, that oasis is real and not a mirage!!!:dance2:

Guys!

Here is what I have heard.

Phillip Fulmer is currently the head coach at UT. BUT! It might change at the end of the season if we do not win a whole bunch of games!

Can you confirm that? Has he recently bought land close to Knoxville?

My friend is a janitor in the athletic dept. and he said he saw Clawson carrying a tape measure into Fulmers office. So he was either measuring for the move or showing Phil exactly how far we have to go to get a 1st down.

IMO Fulmer is playing with the hope of going 7-5. Lose to Bama, but still win over Vandy, Kentucky, and South Carolina.

That will save his job for another season, and give him time to regroup yet again. He's been getting by with 8-5 seasons for a long time and he knows it. I don't see him stepping down after the Alabama game. :twocents:
