IMO, there are several reasons why we are not actively pursuing a coach from Boise State:
1. Dirk Koetter - 26-10 @ BSU, 1st: 6-5, 2nd: 10-3, 3rd: 10-2. In 2001 he was hired at Arizona State. While at ASU, he compiled a 40-34 record and his best season was 9-3, with two losing seasons and never finishing higher than 3rd in the Pac-10.
2. Dan Hawkins - 53-11 @ BSU, 1st: 8-4, 2nd: 12-1, 3rd: 13-1, 4th: 11-1, 5th: 9-4. In 2006 he became the HBC at Colorado. During his tenure at CU he has never been above .500, his record stands at 16-33 with his best year in the 2nd season with a 6-7 season.
3. Chris Petersen - 49-4 @ BSU, 1st: 13-0, 2nd: 10-3, 3rd: 12-1, 4th: 14-0.
Has taken BSU to new heights than the previous two coaches and has only lost one conference game, although it's in the WAC.
IMO, what some may be concerned with is that the previous hires to other programs came from BSU and they failed to make the transition to the next level.
